Guilty pleasures

Steve,

Even the evil ones have "Guilty pleasures" LOL! Yes I miss distinctive voices like Karen Carpenter, and Anne Murray. But we do have some distinctive sounds now which surface every once and a while. What about KD Lang? The wild thing about her is that she sounds and looks like a young Wayne Newton. But what a beautiful voice.

Naughty

Man, Steve, you are really getting into this evilness, aren't you?
[post=306593]Quoted post[/post]
Yeah! You wouldn't believe how liberating it is to behave without regard to your conscience or basic human decency!

*resisting temptation to make President Bush comment here*

Steve319 likes k.d. lang's voice too! (what do you think of the self-referential third person voice thing for my new evil persona? too much?)

Ever heard of Raul Malo? Steve319 says that Chris Isaak only thinks he sounds like Roy Orbison!

Dr. Bubbles, with all you do, how do you find the TIME to iron your sheets? Do you have a household staff to rival Martha Stewart's? (and do they freelance?)

Nope... do it all myself. Besides, even if I had a cleaning service I would probably go back over everything they did. Yes, I am anal. :(

You wouldn't also happen to have a soft spot for Tim Burton movies, James Thurber, concept albums, and requiem music would you?

Now you're scaring me! Tim Burton? Yep; especially The Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands and Sleepy Hollow. I haven't seen Charlie and the Chocolate Factory yet. Thurber? My Life - And Welcome To It. For a short fable, I like A Unicorn in the Garden.
And I love Fauré's Requiem, among others.

Yes! But the Faure needs a boy soprano instead of a woman to be totally effective. My old record has one, but not my CD.

I'm thinking this is a generational thing because I don't know most of the references in this post threads, & it's also due to the fact that I'm not very well-educated yet. My guilty pleasures are usually around food & sex...real basic. Any,and I said ANY, gourmet ice cream, unitl I can't eat another mouthful. Gag.

I love my g/f to get aggressive with me when we've having sex. But she's not into it too much. If she did this, I'd never get out of bed! Hint, hint, sweetie.

AH! You, sir, have the right idea! Steve says the more base the vices, the easier they are to indulge!

*maniacal laughter*

OK, Steve knows the whole evil routine is wearing pretty thin. Just indulge Steve a bit longer. I'm sure it will pass in time. Besides, isn't that avatar kind of cute?

ESPECIALLY The Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands and Sleepy Hollow! I'd add Beetlejuice to that list. (I assume you know about this?)

I enjoy Beetlejuice as well, but not quite up there with the other three mentioned. Close, though. And yeah ... I know about Corpse Bride and want to see it. It sounds interesting.

Just thought I'd catch up on this since I missed it earlier.

Tim Burton is certainly a guy that is, well, out there, but Beetlejuice has been one of my all time favorite movies. It just sorta clicked with me, and Danny Elfman did an awesome job with the score for the movie. Sleepy Hollow was a good movie also. Corpse Bride does seem interesting, and I will probably see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory this summer just to see it. While I thought his reworking of Planet of the Apes had promise, the end of the movie sorta killed it for me.

->Steve, I like the cool evil twin you've brought along for us to play with :)

My conscience is bothering me so I have to confess to another guilty pleasure.

I put chocolate syrup on chocolate ice cream.

As you might guess, I'm new to the evil lifestyle; I appreciate your patience as I learn the ropes. I thank you from the bottom of my sour and blackened heart!

*note to self: Altairion may make good minion; plus his engineer's brain may come in handy--remove him from hit list*

Pecker, how decadant! I put nectar topping on chocolate chip ice cream and then bury it in pecans!
[post=306926]Quoted post[/post]

Gee and I thought putting a ton of butter on my pound cake was rich.
And then there's frying bread in bacon fat. Yummy

Decadent! Like lunching on the collective fears of humanity...with chocolate sprinkles!

("Plus it comes with a free frozen yogurt I like to call frogurt! But the frogurt is cursed"... spot the reference anyone?)

I am a 24 and Alias junkie - I will not answer the phone or leave the house till the show goes off...

I color coordinate my closet (It is about 24ft long and walkin) - that is what sold me on my loft...

Also obsessed w/buying jeans and t-shirts w/crazy saying...

OK, just relax, KinkGuy. It's going to be OK.

Deep breaths....

...that's it.

Keep breathing....good....

Now liking Bette Midler in and of itself doesn't necessarily mean anything at all. I'm sure there are plenty of Midler fans out there who aren't necessarily psychotic or deaf or anything like that. It's OK.

She's a consummate entertainer with a ribald sense of humor. What's not to like, right?

Relax...you're among friends. Feel better now? Good.

Now, if you'd said, say, Cher or something, we might have had to stage an intervention....

(This from the man who owns George Michael's greatest hits...)

Bette's great. How can you not like her?

My personal weeknesses are chocolate, cookies, and brownies. I can never give any of them up for Lent. I would just fail miserably.
