Step 1. Offer prayers for the families and the victims
Step 2. Now it not the time to discuss gun control
Step 3. By now we are 10-15 days out and the funerals are over and the news cycle has moved on

FBI Statement on the Shooting in Parkland, Florida

On January 5, 2018, a person close to Nikolas Cruz contacted the FBI’s Public Access Line (PAL) tipline to report concerns about him. The caller provided information about Cruz’s gun ownership, desire to kill people, erratic behavior, and disturbing social media posts, as well as the potential of him conducting a school shooting.

Under established protocols, the information provided by the caller should have been assessed as a potential threat to life. The information then should have been forwarded to the FBI Miami Field Office, where appropriate investigative steps would have been taken.

We have determined that these protocols were not followed for the information received by the PAL on January 5. The information was not provided to the Miami Field Office, and no further investigation was conducted at that time.

The point is, if they aren't safe without having guns to protect them, why do they think the US population will be safe? The truth is they don't give a shit about anyone but themselves.

The ultimate goal is no guns but removing them from part of the population while others keep theirs is very unfair and will not eliminate the danger! In the UK, knife crimes and using vehicles as weapons has increased. It is people's ideas that need changing before anything, not to mention the dangerous neurological side effects of medication and pollution. Correct those things first then people will feel safe enough not to want guns in their society, some countries have got it right but they don't have the same societal problems you have in the US.

First of all there are instances where after a certain number of DUI's and/or suspended or even prementley revoked D/L's the authorities do in fact confiscate the vehicles of the person involved.

How many instances do you need where when someone who wants to kill a whole lot of people and do it very quickly ans easily goes out and gets a "scary black rifle" do you need before you come to the conclusion that maybe just maybe that easily attainable, easy to use GUARANTEED TO WORK just might have something to do with the equation that ends up 10's often dozens of people DEAD ????

Last I checked, you can still buy a car with cash anywhere and it’s not illegal. No background check to buy a car. You’d be amazed at how many people I’ve arrested (or cited because we are told NOT to arrest) who had no driver license, or a revoked license due to DUI’s or accidents. In some municipalities I’d be willing to bet that 1/3 of the drivers don’t have a valid license. Just because you see someone behind the wheel doesn’t mean they’re a legal driver.

An "armed" "resource officer" I do not know why we/they just don't call them cops because in almost every instance that is what they are.

By all reports this cop never got off a shot or even ever saw the shooter.

Also he probably had no more than a sidearm.

Really effective, against a shooter with an AR type rifle who some accounts say was wearing a "bullet proof vest"

No asshat. The “security guard” mentioned was the football coach. He was unarmed, and died shielding people with his body. “Security guard” was a title he held, not a uniform he wore.
