Except in Japan, Canada, Australia, Switzerland, Finland, Denmark, New Zealand, Iceland, and pretty much every other developed nation.

Except Japan was rebuilt by us after WWII and the ban was to keep them from becoming enemies again.

Canada followed Great Britain’s stupid laws (and thankfully hasn’t seen the exponential rise in other, such as knife related crime). But thankfully Canada can still live fairly harmoniously, and police officers are still allowed to carry guns.

Australia forcefully disarmed its citizens and now fully relies on the US for defense (as do most of the other nations you mentioned).

Switzerland.... you may want to do more research.

The last 4 are very good examples, save the mentality of the people compared to the violent mentality of OUR criminals. Negating all gun laws, what do you propose to do about the mentality of the violent criminals in American society? Until you have an answer to this question, NOTHING regarding gun control is relevant.

Not the best comparison. Gun advocates can point to the Bill of Rights for support. Abortion rights advocates have a Supreme Court decision in their favor, yes, but that still doesn't carry quite the same weight (and is easier to overturn).

And in practical terms, women are currently denied access to abortions far more than firearms enthusiasts are denied access to guns.
