Dang. You just about had it.

Except for that buggery little 2-letter word.

If.

If only...

'Cept they're still part of the US.

Don'ta just love Statistics?

You can make shit smell purty too!

Dang dude! I was sure you had it...
We can always enact the same “no-gun” laws as Chicago. I hear it’s a lovely and safe place to live.

People kill and always have. With a gun or with some other implement. In fact guns are used far less than hands and knives. It’s easy to fall in line with the tragedy based news cycle. Gun control gun control gun control, that is all we hear after a shooting. Never mind the actual statistics in the USA for violent crime.

Most violent crime occurs in the same places over and over. Funny thing is that most of your violent crime does not occur where you have the highest levels of gun ownership. In fact in areas where conceal carry is allowed violent crime has gone down. You, will find that cities with strict gun laws and gun free zones are your most likely places to be shot. That is not ironic people.

You don’t have to own a gun and that is fine by me. Others of us have made the choice to be responsibly armed private citizens. Making law abiding citizens give up their right to personal protection is a gross misstep. You may reduce gun crimes but you won’t reduce violence.

I live in a state with VERY strict gun control laws. Massachusetts bans assault rifles, high capacity magazines etc. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts has the LOWEST incidence of gun violence in the country.

So just this morning a guy shoots up a Waffle House in TN

3 dead and counting

Did he use a knife ?

NO

Did he use a club ?

NO

Did he use an IED ?

NO

Did he use his "bare hands"

NO

Other than the IED which you can NOT just go down a buy at the local Bass Pro Shops and the "igredients" are difficult to get, you can not just walk into where ever and buy EVERYTHING you need in some retail establishment would he have been able to KILL 3 people and wound how ever many more ?

No, probably not.

What did he use ?

Gee what do you know another "mass shooter" chooses a semi-auto assault type rifle.

But no, lets not do anything about that because he COULD have used -----

Fine

MAKE THEM TRY AND USE "SOMETHING ELSE"

The n=1 argument. Doesn’t explain gun violence in DC, Chicago and other places with “VERY strict gun control laws.”

Agree with all above except that “law abiding citizens” are clearly not the problem and taking guns from those of us who choose responsible firearm ownership will certainly not reduce gun crime.

If you could figure out who is homocidal, suicidal, or a terrorist, you’d take away their guns (obviously), pilot’s license (see Germanwings and Egypt Air), car (Oklahoma City and others), box cutters, and probably steak knives.

DC Murder Rate Takes Huge Plunge: FBI 2016 Crime Stats
Violent crime in the District also showed a strong decline, although nationwide the violent crime rate increased.

The problem with Chicago is that Indiana is next door and has almost no gun control and one of the highest rates of Gun Violence of the 50 states. Easily obtained guns in Indiana cross the border into Illinois.

Violent crime rate changed in DC because they passed some magic new law in 2015?

A stupid post which doesn’t account for differences in local public attitudes, control, enforcement, prosecutorial and sentencing differences.

Thank you. You make precisely my point. That’s the “n of one” comment regarding bullshit scientific argument.

What a coincidence that the State with the strictest gun control laws also has the lowest rate of gun violence.

Asked and answered. You two are hysterical.
