Although he's British, Guy's from a Jewish background (and very proud of it), so almost certainly cut.

I'm from a Jewish background (on my maternal grandfather's side) but I'm uncut. We're not practising Jews lol.

His mother is Jewish, that makes him automatically Jewish.

Jewish status passes along the female line, so unless your maternal grandmother was also Jewish at the time your mum was born, then she is not and therefore you are not. If she was you’d be automatically Jewish and likely circumcised, it’s a pretty important part of the “deal” (covenant) with God.

Or one of the denominations of Judaism, Liberal, does not require it at all despite it being a foundation of the covenant. It’s just a different but valid interpretation.

I think it was maternal great-grandfather who was Jewish so that doesn't make me Jewish, right? I'm definitely uncircumcised lol.

That doesn’t make you personally Jewish right now, but you have Jewish ancestors. There’s only two ways to be Jewish: 1. if your birth mother is (anyone who is born Jewish remains Jewish, so if ever adopted by non Jews a child remains Jewish still, because children are not owned as property by their parents) or 2. to convert to Judaism.

But that’s the position in Jewish Law (Halacha). You can still identify as Jewish, without needing to be circumcised, if you believe both that there is one God alone and that you treat other people as you want to be treated yourself. Believe in any of the Jesus stuff, the devil, etc then that’s totally incompatible with Jewish belief.

But of course for sure you have Jewish heritage, something to be proud of.
