Guys,

i was a big fan of sites like:

Cezar Capone - Best amateur internet porn available

i noticed they haven't done an update since 09.

what's up with that?

so where is the porn coming from? as much as we love the Xtube, etc. we may be killing the business.

anybody have any insight? what's going on in the biz right now? how does this effect the talent (hot chicks and big dicks)?

i would think with a souring economy, women who might not consider porn, are getting into it? no? but i also had a date with a former porn star who said she got out of it because the business was tanking. i thought porn was recession proof, no?

is it going underground? gonzo? more regulated? less regulated? what is happening to content sites that get the hot girls? where are they going now?

just curious to any insight...

thanks!

Can't tell you where the girls are going but I can tell you that the effect of free tube sites on the industry is well documented.

The Challenge Of User-Generated Porn - Forbes.com
from two years ago:
Profitability is a huge concern to studios, since pornography has not proven recession-proof in this climate of "free." DVD sales are especially hard hit.

But increasing the percentage of viewers moving from free to pay won't be easy. Hirsch estimates that the ratios of users willing to pay for content who type in "Vivid.com" are between 1 in 200 and 1 in 400, while those for users on tube sites were somewhere around 1 in 8,000 to 1 in 10,000.

And there are still lingering concerns over piracy, unchecked by the less-than-reputable sites that regularly pop up and attract viewers with stolen content. Ali Joone, founder of the porn studio Digital Playground, estimates that as much as 99% of content on some tube sites is pirated, much of it uploaded by the tube- site owners themselves.

interesting. i guess it's just like the music biz and other mainstream entertainment like Universal NBC, etc. it's interesting. you can reach everyone online and it can be a giant monster in your favor but also it appears to be working against the business.
