hair dye

I have this funky natural hi-light of golden blond running down the middle of my head. it really stands out would it be a good idea to dye it jet black.

yes I could cut it but the weather does not permit to do so 60s in the day time and mid 20s at night. I'm not cutting it tell the first day of summer which is when it first hits 90F in the day time.

I have one suggestion if you are thinking of dying your hair. Go to a professional colorist at a reputable salon and discuss it and let him/her who knows what they are doing dye it. You can spot people (and not in a good way) who buy hair color in a box a the supermarket and do it themselves a mile away.
