. Do you have long or short hair. What looks better on you. How long does it you to style it. Do you think its acceptable for men to have really long hair or will they be considered to feminine. Also why does going bald look good on some men but on women it's not the same. Would you ever date a bald woman.

Short now. Long back in the 70's when that was the style and a few times since. Long hair on men is way more acceptable today than it was back in the mid-20th century and earlier. It hasn't been considered effeminate on men for a long time. Surveys show less than five percent of people like the look of male pattern baldness which is why most of them buzz it down or shave it off altogether.

An oncologist friend has told me for years that most of his female cancer patients are more worried about losing their hair than the potential mortality of the disease when first diagnosed.

Back in the 90's I dated a young woman who shaved her head because she was fan of Sinead O'Connor. Except for blue eyes they looked a lot alike--similar body type and smile.

I'd date a woman with a bald head in a heartbeat. Currently wearing mine pretty long. Though being black it doesn't really look all that long at first glance. Though i think i look better with short. I have a pretty standard face. Which is kind of square. So i think short works better but am trying out the long for the moment. Doesn't take long at all because i don't style it at all. I don't pick it out and don't get it cut. It's like a black hipster look. Like i listen to an assload of neo jazz.

Why wouldn't it be acceptable? Don't get me wrong. I laugh at man bun jokes like the rest of us but other than casual stuff like that i couldn't care any less. I'm not a casting agent or something to that effect.

It looks good on women too. It's just that sexism exists. And part of sexism is trying to define what women can and can't do. When it comes to hair women aren't seen as looking good being bald because of the insane amount of time sexism has existed and what sexist men defined as beautiful. With those influences dictating how we all see each other in one way or another.

With all that said beneficial circumstance looks much much better with long hair. He has kind of a long face and the hair helps shape it.

I used to rock shoulder length hair for years, sometimes now I have it cut short as it's getting thinner, I've also tried a skinhead a few times.

My wife prefers me with longer hair but as I'm at an age where it's thinning especially on top it's difficult to pull off the desired look. The day isn't that far away when I go skinhead permanently.

I agree to a point how sexism can dictate a woman's hair length, but I think for a lot of men there is a genuine preference for longer hair, and I dont think it's exactly sexism when women choose to keep their hair long to attract the partners they want, when there are plenty of men out there that will appreciate it short.

I have long hair dreadlocks to be specific that is near shoulder length. I refuse to cut my hair for anyone. I like women with shirt hair. Looks great on many. Amber rose is a great example lot of people say she even looks better with her buz cut.

They asked.

(Also why does going bald look good on some men but on women it's not the same.)

And my general answer was sexism. Because that's accurate. Even when talking preferences in this regard we're still talking sexism. Imagine a world where sexism never existed. Where religion was never invented. Where men were never able to use religion to influence not just government but social interaction, finance, entertainment, policy and so on. Where would our influence when it comes to defining beauty come from then?

Without having religious figures to base it on. Without people defining femininity on long hair. All the books written about how hot a woman is with long hair never existed. Magazines, tv shows, movies, and so on would never focus on women with long hair and the standard of beauty is different. What would that difference be? Can you even imagine all that? If you can't it's understandable.

That's how much we human beings have been influenced by sexism. There is absolutely positively zero reason a person wouldn't be attracted to a woman with short hair. Other than sexism having influenced their preferences.

Not saying men who say they aren't attracted to women with short hair are sexists though. If that's what you were thinking. No, i'm saying there's no logical basis for not being attracted to a woman with short hair. She's still a woman, still has the same features as a woman. Still has breasts. Still has a vagina. And so on. The only other.."reasons" someone could not be attracted to a woman with short her is because they don't look like a woman...slightly. Meaning that person has an image of women that isn't true. Isn't logical. And is based off of sexism.

Or fertility or general health perhaps? Hair quality is an indicator of health in women, baldness or thinning of hair in younger women is not an inaccurate indicator of their health state, so are we now implying men's preference for healthy partners is based in sexism too?

I keep my hair cut high and tight. Used to keep it longer. At one time my hair was past my shoulders. With my work it's easier and cooler in the summer.

For the past couple of years I've kept it "high and tight " hair cut about every six weeks. It's wash and wear. Less shampoo/conditioner. just run my fingers through no comb needed this short. I'm thankful I've got a head full of hair.

Male pattern baldness here.
In my 20s and early 30s it was shoulder length---and a beard halfway down my chest as well. I was DEEP in the closet.

After I got sober at age 32 and came to terms with myself and my sexuality, my hair style became shorter and shorter---so did my beard. And then at 40, my full, thick head of hair began to fall out.

When my father died at 88, he had a very thick head of white hair; we joked that he should get a Mohican cut and I would do a "reverse Mohican".

Mine is now shaved on top, closely trimmed at the sides and back, with a very closely trimmed full beard.

I saw a tank top at the gym: "Training to be bald!"
