I agree to a point how sexism can dictate a woman's hair length, but I think for a lot of men there is a genuine preference for longer hair, and I dont think it's exactly sexism when women choose to keep their hair long to attract the partners they want, when there are plenty of men out there that will appreciate it short.
They asked.
(Also why does going bald look good on some men but on women it's not the same.)
And my general answer was sexism. Because that's accurate. Even when talking preferences in this regard we're still talking sexism. Imagine a world where sexism never existed. Where religion was never invented. Where men were never able to use religion to influence not just government but social interaction, finance, entertainment, policy and so on. Where would our influence when it comes to defining beauty come from then?
Without having religious figures to base it on. Without people defining femininity on long hair. All the books written about how hot a woman is with long hair never existed. Magazines, tv shows, movies, and so on would never focus on women with long hair and the standard of beauty is different. What would that difference be? Can you even imagine all that? If you can't it's understandable.
That's how much we human beings have been influenced by sexism. There is absolutely positively zero reason a person wouldn't be attracted to a woman with short hair. Other than sexism having influenced their preferences.
Not saying men who say they aren't attracted to women with short hair are sexists though. If that's what you were thinking. No, i'm saying there's no logical basis for not being attracted to a woman with short hair. She's still a woman, still has the same features as a woman. Still has breasts. Still has a vagina. And so on. The only other.."reasons" someone could not be attracted to a woman with short her is because they don't look like a woman...slightly. Meaning that person has an image of women that isn't true. Isn't logical. And is based off of sexism.
