Democratic Rep. Ellison launches into tirade on Fox News (VIDEO) | The Ticket - Yahoo! News

A priceless moment, imo.

Considering Hannity's bullshit lead in prior to the interview (complete with dubbed music and characterizations aimed at making Obama appear an alarmist over the impending budget cuts) I PERSONALLY think Rep. Ellison demonstrated considerable aplomb.

"Shill?" You're too polite, Mr. Ellison.

LOL if you're thinking Ellison isn't equally as big a hack for his party.

I gotta be honest, I was genuinely interested in watching this and was going to applaud Ellison for going on Hannity's show. I was curious as to what Hannity's positions on sequestration were and hoped to better understand those views in a debate with Ellison.

But then when I realized Ellison was just going to rant non-stop, had no intention of answering any of Hannity's questions or any interest in having a back and forth discussion, I lost even more respect for this guy.

I don't have much respect for either. Ellison is a nutjob and Hannity is a hack. You're better off with O'Reilly. He's had a few interactions with Ellison that are far more informative. Ellison is still a talking point spewing douche, but it's not nearly as pointless as this 7 minute waste of time.

It's not that I listen to Hannity per say to form my opinion, it's just fascinating to me the tight rope he has to walk with his conservatism. For example the bailouts, with his idol Mark Levin was railing against them meanwhile his man Bush was enacting them. And since he is sort of the most popular "mainstream" conservative (after Limbaugh although I put mainstream in quotes since Limbaugh isn't on TV), it's interesting to me how he forms his opinion and chooses to publicly state them.

As with the bailouts, now we have sequestration. Government cuts in spending, something conservatives have always wanted, yet they are done in a quite bizarre manner which nobody could possibly think is a good idea, except to certain members of the conservative base. So, it would be interesting to me how he chooses to articulate his pov.

Hannity is bigot and every person that goes on his show should kick him in the nuts before his mouth opens. Something stupid is about to fly out. I'm not a fan of Ellison, but bravo son.

Could we settle on Ellison being a shill in general? A hack, a clown, or something similar would suffice in my book.

I don't know for certain, but I do believe he is a Muslim, so it would make the comment accurate, if unnecessary...it's not as if we would call Hannity a Christian shill.

And Bal, nothing of course.

What's wrong with Muslims?

Nothing I can think of.

I'm guessing though, the intent behind calling Ellison a "Muslim shill" (he's Muslim) was hardly benevolent. I can fathom no purpose for doing so.

According to conservative nutjobs, Obama is Muslim too, fwiw.

I can't believe a liberal would try and draw attention to this interview. Ellison looked like an idiot, spoiled little child, hardly the behavior you would expect from a congressman. Hannity is a tool and that's what he does, but Ellison just embarrassed himself with whole "no, you are" bullshit.

Agreed on all counts. Not wrong, but certainly not a simple matter of calling it like it is.

Sean Hannity is a GOP flatulent flack. he is NOT a journalist. he is a fraud. he is to journalism what Papa Johns is to pizza: the lowest possible denominator.

That's your take (or spin) on it.

I don't think Ellison looked like an idiot, spoiled child, or anything of the kind.

Looked to me like someone fed up with BULLSHIT masquerading as journalism. No doubt Ellison was further insulted by Hannity's (or Fox's) AUDACITY (if not bad judgement) to invite HIM there to be a party to it. No doubt, for Ellison, a WTF? moment.

Exactly. And "props" to Ellison for calling him out on it.

Hey, WHO'S more of a "shill"? A member of the party whose stance on a political issue you're in agreement with, or some HACK spewing propaganda under the guise of journalism, then saying some bullshit like, "I'm a registered conservative, not a Republican."

C'mon!

Gonna' have to correct one thing, here.

Hannity *is* a registered Conservative, and is not a Republican. In New York, where he is registered, they are two different political party affiliations and when he registered, he registered as a Conservative.

You might think that it is splitting hairs, but his statement *is* correct.

As for Ellison, he could definitely have behaved better. I respected what he was saying, but his behavior undercut his point.

Hannity doesn't like it when someone talks over him in the same way he does to most of his guests. The Representative was right about one thing, the man is a sorry excuse for a journalist. Right up there with that idiot Sharpton.

Every time I see one of these clips, I'm once again thankful that my satellite service dropped Fox news and has never carried MSNBC.

I get it. And I understand that not every Republican is necessarily a conservative, and visa versa; that among some there'd be a distinction - but SERIOUSLY, in the context of what was occurring?

"Splitting hairs" is putting it mildly. It was a chicken-shit "dodge" on Hannity's part, imo.

That's spelled, S - H - I - L - L.

Well examining the context, that being when Ellison states and I quote "you are nothing but a Republican", then no, you're not splitting hairs when you point out that you are not. Even more so when one considers the multiple times Ellison made reference to Hannity's political affiliations.

That's not a "chicken-shit dodge", it's correcting the record. Something one needs to do often when Ellison speaks.
