HAPPY 4TH OF JULY TO MY NEW NET FAMILY HERE.HOPE ALL HAVE A SAFE A FUN HOILDAY :biggrin1:
It's a fun tune, Big D, but for those of us who have played it so many times (both as a civilian and as a military musician), it loses some of its charm... :biggrin1: Just a little trivia for you... did you know that the piccolo obbligato in the trio of Stars & Stripes Forever was so cumbersome on the standard instrument, that a new piccolo was developed and became somewhat popular, just for that one tune? That's how the D-flat piccolo came into being. No one uses them now, but you still see it in the scores.
The musicians never get to party with everyone else, they always have to work!Same old 4th for me - playing with the symphony at the World's Fair park.
Hope everyone has a fun and safe one!
