prepstudinsc: 227 years sounds old to our American ears, but when I travel in Europe, 227 years is still "new." Several years ago, I went to England to play a couple of recitals. One of the churches in which I played dates from the 12th century, with additions made in the 1500's. That section is referred to as the "new part of the building."
In America something is ancient if it was built 150 years ago. Kind of puts things into perspective.
Anyway, happy 4th of July to my fellow American LPSG'ers. Hope we al have a fun, but safe, day.
