The Thin White Duke is now 65. Content with retirement. Living a quiet normal life out of the limelight. Spending his time painting and reading. Time with his family. Teaching his daughter the piano and drums. I could ramble on forever about what his music means to me. Instead, i would just like to thank him for his amazing and groundbreaking body of work. He moved the culture and a generation. Happy Birthday!

Did you see the Jean Genie tv clip mentioned there? I haven't looked to see if it's on YouTube.It was easily the highlight of Christmas tv for me.
BBC management at the time were clueless about the value of music.

It's a bit early,Ziggy will be 40 on 6th June.

The continued high quality throughout the diversity of Bowie's work is unequalled.I don't believe we've heard the last from him,he just wants some family time while his daughter grows up.

His original surname was Jones, I don't know where you got the story about him changing it to something more interesting but he actually changed it to avoid any confusing with the other Jones boy who was in a group called The Monkees
