We did lazy dinner tonight.

I meant to get coconut shrimp, got beer battered instead. That's what happens when you're in a hurry and hungry in the frozen foods section and you don't shop in that section often.

What's your recent happy mistake? Or not so recent..

This might sound like a bit of a heavy happy accident, but...

In April 2019 I literally had an accident, a car accident, and it totaled my little green convertible beetle at the time. A person ran a stop sign and he was in a big SUV. I t-boned him. This green beetle was a replacement for my orange beetle i had 15-16 years (which had died beyond reasonable repair). I had the green beetle for 6 months, tops. It was also an older model and had quite a few miles on it, like 125,000. But it was standard and I loved it though I knew down the road repairs get COSTLY.

Due to the other other driver being at fault, and my injuries, I won a pretty nice settlement after about a year (which I got this summer).

I promptly got a used Toyota camry solara with 80,000 miles and even though I wish it was a standard it has been a WONDERFUL sturdy car so far. I didn't even have to spend that much to fix it up. I had leftover settlement money to put into savings which has REALLY helped out during this pandemic.

Plus, due to accident injuries, I got some steroid back injections (three in total) which helped with back pain that was somewhat existing prior to accident but made much worse by accident.

All in all, a happy accident as far as I am concerned.

RIP Guacomobile, though. Never got to take that convertible out for a fun summer road trip.

Bob Ross on the brain today. I painted my Mom one of the paintings from one of his kits, back in the day, and my Mom says that it was not a mistake :)

I didn’t really understand painting signatures then, and signed my name across the bottom third of the painting in big bold letters. :D and my Mom kept it, bless her

Bob Ross makes it look easy. I’m thinking of taking one of the classes offered at a local art workshop :)

I missed the bus one day  so I had to walk. The journey takes me past a charity op-shop (thrift store) that I often go to. I decided to go in for a quick looky-lou and found a book I've been wanting for aaaaages. I had nearly bought a copy on eBay that very morning but didn't like the price ($50) so I changed my mind. And then there it was right in front of me for only $10. I didn't have $10, but they let me have it for $8.

Fuck.

Yes.

The cover was a little bit scuffed - but for a $42 saving, I'm cool with that.

One time when 2020 going shit turned out awesome.

Was running late for an appointment. Took the wrong route. Happen to see a pupper in bad shape roaming the street. Tracked her back to a house folks had recently moved out of. She was clearly a neglect and abuse case tucked-tail, skin and bones, dry but had whelped several litters of pups.

Called appointment, fucked it off. Called Animal Control. Called the Rescue Dykes Crew. Animal Control came out, took a statement, took the doggo, took RDC info.

Follow up with Animal Control and RDC pupper removed from rubbishy home, cleared initial screenings, placed in foster/rehab care with member of RDC.

Seriously. The best part of 2020. And I would put up with all the personal bullshit of 2020 to help her out.

a little dissapointed,as i am a pcture perfect American politician wannabe,and absolutely no mistakes,happy or not,do i have

however one comes to mind funnily

it took me about 3 years to successfully grow a field of wildflowers,on island
i insisted to self,no fertilizer
so began the disappointments and drasmas

resolved with plenty of hens, and there scratching around, and organic poo
HAPPY TIMES

had to lpsg ban them when flowers in season,of course

This is the most heroic thing I’ve read in ages. You cared about, protected, and ensured the safety of an innocent and abused creature ... who most people wouldn’t give two fucks about.

Thank you:blush:

The real heroes are my local RDC and Animal Control. AC was out to site in less than 20 mins. Officer M was so gentle with the pup, trying not to cause her more trauma while helping. Made sure everybody got all info exchanged and help push RDC as the group to foster her.

RDC had the foster arranged before AC showed up. Kept on the case daily until doggos was in hand. If every organization was as efficient as animal rescuing lesbians the whole planet would be ship shape in two weeks.

The lady who took the pupper works with trauma doggos. She's the lady who helped guide training with my Spaz *dog hug*

RDC is a sister group to the folks who helped place the foster kittens. Is crazy how a group of friends put so much good out into the world.

Got drunk in a bar, 5 miles from the town where I lived around 1993. Ended up loosing my wallet. It contained $300-400 at the time in cash. Drove the back roads home and crashed without knowing the missing part.

Next morning phone rings. Gal says she found my wallet. Looked in my pants, sure enough missing! She lived in my same town, asked my address and 10 minutes later delivered it to my door. (small town with 1000 max population in Iowa) She was 15 years younger than me. Cute redhead. I tried to give her $100, but she would not accept the $. Seemed like a nice gal and we talked a bit.

Wanting to pay her back, I asked if taking her to dinner that night would be acceptable. She agreed! Gave me her address (still lived with her parents...had just graduated HS a few years prior)

Anyway, took her to a steakhouse in a larger town. She was very nice and we hit it off. We ended up dating for probably 6 months. Met her family many times and we all got along great. Our biggest problem was I had 2 kids aged 13 and 11. She was young and not ready to be a Mother figure yet, and I had the kids every other weekend. So we ended up splitting apart. She pretty much spent every night living with me those 6 months, so it was hard on us both initially.

We both moved on, but we are still close friends! :p We talk on Facebook now weekly, and she is friends with my kids and Granddaughter. Have a few phone calls monthly. Life time friend and dearly loved!
