My experience my chest hair grows quickly, might compare your facial beard [mine over night is scrubby] as well hair on head [1/4" a month]. Seems I need to manscape every couple weeks to keep everything 'smooth'.

Shaving the chest and abdomen will not make the hair grow if you don't have it nor will it make it thicker if you do have it. IT will grow only when nature tells it to grow if you have the genetics etc. for chest and ab hair. You said that you don't have any.

That was my question too. How long will it take to grow back b/c you shave or shaving was a strategy based on this common misconception.

there are a few factors that come in to play with this.... one is how much sleep you get.... hair grows fastest in your sleep so if you get a lot of sleep it will grow back pretty fast.... also, you have to think of the elements of hair; notably vitamin E.... the more elements of hair that you consume and have in your system, the faster your hair will grow.... metabolism also plays a factor....

the same goes with a person's nails.... i always tell my girlfriends who complain about having weak nails to consume more gelatin to make them stronger because gelatin is actually made from the same compounds that are in nails.... if you have weak or brittle nails, eat jello every day for a month and the results will amaze you....

The few times I have shaved my body hair it takes a month of regrowth before I think that it looks normal again. I am naturally hairy; however, shaving does not increase the amount of hair you have ... that is dependent upon your genetics!

Body hair = follicles + hormones + receptors. Shaving doesn't magically make hair grow that wasn't there before.

If you're hormone deficient you can get HRT prescribed, but without follicles or hormone receptors all you are likely to get is a nasty rash, and increased cardiac risk.
