Generally, most nude beaches are populated with people (fat, straight, gay, beautiful, young, old, etc) who just like the feeling of not wearing lycra and spandex when they're swimming. At most nude beaches, sex is frowned upon, but I have yet to find one where hanky-panky doesn't go on somewhere. Having said that, I believe the vibe on nude beaches is welcoming and friendly. I think there is a heavy uncurrent of sensuality but I personally don't really find it overtly sexual.

Of course, if I were on a nude beach with zumzum, I might have different ideas...

Ive been to a number of nude beaches and have never seen a hardon (I mean, a spontaneous one....in a few beaches, there are cruising areas where guys go for sex, so that's different.)
But if a guy should get a hardon, there is obviously a way to be discreet and minimize its view, and a way to flaunt it. You're among adults; Im sure if you discreetly turn on your stomach or turn away from the crowd, no on would mind. There are some people (not all but some) who would obviously be uncomfortable if you deliberately showed off your hardon. Likewise some people complain at nude beaches if they spot some guy who cant seem to stop leering. So just use common sense and you'll be cool (even if you get hot and bothered<G>).

I visit a nude beach quite often and you do see some hard-ons and I've had a couple myself, but just hit the water or roll over until it goes down. I do remember seeing a guy at a nude beach stopping to talk to women as they walked un and down the beach. His gig was that as they talked he would get an erection. This has been my experience as well. There tends to be far less attitude on the nude beaches than on the all/mostly gay male beaches.

I often see lots of men sporting Viagra hard-ons walking around and most people just enjoy the freedom and pay each other no mind.

Yeah, actually, hard-ons are quite common when guys sleep. I get them all the time when I sleep, on reason I wear boxers, to allow the looseness for it to get hard without annoying restrictions.

Going to sleep seems to turn off the normal mental suppression of erections, so yeah the penis can naturally start bulging or "bone up."

But the natural hard-ons, would seem a practical reason not to have nude beachs. It's just the wrong place to draw the line, as I can't imagine how nude beaches wouldn't have a few erections. I know guys used to swim naked some decades past, but that wasn't co-ed swimming. I think the switchover to more co-ed swimming places, and the disappearance of "skinny-dipping" or no more naked swimming in the swimming pools at the YMCA or whatever, pretty much coincided?

I've never seen any nude beaches, and probably there is no reason that ever should. Co-ed seems imply at least a little clothing is required.

Erections happen, but less frequent than you think. Luckily my local Nudist beach is COLD water(atlantic, Cape Town), so when it happens, cool of in the sea and the problem mostly goes away...

Trust me you want to make sure you get some all over you cock, of course that also makes it pretty difficult to avoid get hard while you rub the lotion on it. I've learned to apply a good layer before I even get there... then its just a quick touch-up on the beach here and there.

Either applying sunblock could be an excuse to get a hard-on, which could be fault of the whole idea of nude beachs, or covering up with some sort of swimwear would help avoid sunburn on such a vital part. I think the latter, works better. Either one suggests nude beaches is the wrong place to draw the line.

Actually, I have that problem with going to the beach period. Too prone to sunburn. Maybe if friends take me on some trip, with low expenses of carpooling and shared lodging of some sort, and it's not too sunny or out for long. I often would rather walk along looking for pretty seashells, than lie and roast in the sun, and shivel up like a prune or something.
