Fair point, but at the same time, 2.7mil is not that much considering the house is in LA. Also, I looked at the article and couldn't find any concrete evidence that the house is even his.

Ah, yes, because due to the nature of his profession of sitting 8 hours/day in front of a monitor and watching YouTube videos, he must necessarily own a house in one of the most affluent areas in LA. In regards to the second point, fair enough, guess we’ll see whether he addresses this at all.

No, I totally agree with that point, I'm just pointing out that in terms of real estate prices in LA, 2.7mil is not that much.

I had these exact arguments when it was revealed that he took a PS5 from a fan back when they were only available for like 800 bucks on eBay. He still talks the talk but stopped walking the walk when he started cashing those hundred thousand dollar checks from twitch. Capitalism bad, but only when it doesn’t directly affect him. I mean. I agree with what he says. And he in no way has to live in squaller but this isn’t a good look.

You guys have it all wrong. Bernie is for capitalism but with democratic restraints (social democracy). It's very telling that you don't know what you're accusing them of when you think simply being a millionaire or owning a home valued in the millions makes them a hypocrite because it doesn't.

You can be rich, just pay your fair share of taxes. You can be rich, just don't be rich by taking from your employees/clerks that make it possible to amass wealth. No one said you can't enjoy life. No one said you can't have a $12 coffee. No one said you can't have "excess" luxury, just don't do it by short changing the slaves (capitalism stems from slavery: I can make a ton of money if I pay you nothing/little to nothing).

These are all bad faith arguments creating a strawman to tackle. Show me where they are avoiding 100% of their taxes in order to afford their possessions—you can't.

Bernie stopped harping on millionaires not because he is one (you hater) but because politically he wants mini millionaires to not feel attacked and focus on the Uber wealthy, not petite bourgeoisie.

Similar to climate change, his individual impact is negligible. His advocating for higher taxes on the rich does more good than him not spending all his money on charity. Personal charity is good, but won’t fix society. Legislation is what will fix it. And is what he advocates for.

That's not capitalism. I don't know the details of the PS5 and I don't care, but capitalism is where people that have capital (land, money, company, credit) and use it to take advantage of people that do not have capital and have to "work for a living". The capitalists only work to make sure the system always benefits them and they don't have to work, that the workers always will be in a position they can exploit. What the fuck does that have to do with him repossessing a PS5?

Just like climate crisis, it's less something to attack an individual for their personal responsibility ("carbon footprint" was thought up for suckers ready to take the bait by a oil company think tank) and more to do with attacking the large culprits causing nearly all the damage and gaining all the wealth. They don't want us focusing on them so they bait you into attacking one another.
