Ouija boards, Satanic rituals, etc.,?

I once did with a Ouija board and it freaked me out. Two acquaintances at a party were using it and I asked a question that none of them could have possibly guessed and they got it right. I asked for the initials of my nephews' first names and in order of age. The Ouija board correctly went to "R", then to "J", and then to "M".

If I was skeptical before, I wasn't after that. I never messed around again with that type of stuff because I had the feeling that it was dark and dreadful.

How about you?

I became obsessed with Tarot and psychic readings when I was younger and studied Spiritualism but went cold turkey 25 years ago when I realized it was unhealthy. It was a very wise decision! I do think the imagery of the Tarot deck is very very powerful, but I wouldn't go near a Tarot or psychic reading now.

Thanks. Did you experience anything supernatural?

I had a very active imagination. I quit Spiritualism when I just couldn't validate that any of it was genuine. I grew skeptical with age and experience. With Tarot it became an unhealthy obsession with the future. It was a different time and space and I was in a different headspace then. I have always grown by immersing myself in different ways of thought.

I see foresee answering this question honestly is fraught with danger and ridicule :) :)

Been down this track with a similar thread, on here a long time ago with a member who had no experience to speak of, therefore others experiences where false, untruthful, or figments of imagination. I was using another username then.

I wouldn't call them supernatural, but definitely experiences which give cause to think there are just not the physical mysteries in this life. I don't believe in Tarot, the use of implements, gadgetry or the vagueness of interpretation.

Well, I shared my experience and I have another that I'll share later. If someone wants to claim that my experiences were not valid, that's ok with me. I don't begrudge anyone for being skeptical. I wouldn't have believed either, but then I went through those experiences.

I had a similar experience with astrology. When I was younger I became obsessed with predicting the future, but today I do not reject the spiritual world, and I am very fond of C. G. Jungs theory of the collective unconscious.

I had forgotten about my astrology interest! I have become rather agnostic, but re. Jung I think everything is connected in ways we are not fully aware of. I've seen too many patterns in my life. I know we are programmed to see patterns, but mine are not a stretch by any reckoning. I am agnostic about an afterlife, but my life is so blessed in many ways that if this is all there is, I am fine with it. If there is a heaven, I will be pleasantly surprised. Believe it or not, I have a masters degree from a protestant seminary. Reincarnation IS possible!

I would not want the Ouija Board in my house. Those have the potential to open up portals that attract negative energy. Those are best left alone. The intent of the person who 'dabbles' in that aspect of the occult has quite a bit to do with the resulting affect.

I do not believe in casting spells, or any BS that would affect change in another person against their will. I do believe in God's creation as well as our ability to ascend through/into higher frequencies (aka dimensions). Our 3D experience is grounding, (i.e., physical plain of linear time where we exist in a tangible body), our dreams and other 4'th dimensional experiences have their place, and of course there is that ever so wonderful 5'th dimensional energy. I digress.

Occult, not really.

I've considered exploring wicca some, but I don't have the time. I used to be fascinated with astrology, and really the only reason I'm not anymore is that I don't have time.

My wife (now my ex) and I had a supernatural experience approximately 20 years ago that I would like to share. I call it "Our “mimic” experience".

In spiritual terms, a “mimic” is a demonic entity that can mimic anybody’s voice. My wife, Andrea, and I might not have believed in such a thing until it happened to us.

Andrea and I were sitting in our empty home, staring at a computer screen, and going over some financials. The house was dead silent. Then, I heard the distinctive voice of Andrea’s brother say “Andrea!”. I was stunned and looked at Andrea and I asked “Did you hear that?” and she immediately responded, “Yes, Alfredo” (her brother).

We both got up and walked from our home office into the rest of our home, half-expecting to see her brother in the house. He was nowhere to be found. We called out to him but there was no response. So, we called his cell phone. He answered and told us, as we had previously understood, that he was 2 hours away from us in Clearwater Beach, Florida, with his girlfriend. He was very surprised to hear of our experience and, like us, had no explanation. We concluded the call and went on with our evening. Never again did we experience such a thing.

For years we didn’t have an explanation for what occurred. Eventually, I came across a Facebook page that discussed the supernatural. I shared our experience and someone responded and told me that we had been contacted by a mimic and went on to explain their demonic nature. They told me that mimics are, indeed, evil but that they are relatively harmless and that they do it for their own amusement.

For Andre and I, that was all the “proof” that we needed to know that there is more to our existence than what we can see and that spiritual forces DO exist.
