i posted this question on the Ask a woman forum.

Are Women Over A Certain Age Should Not Have A "hourglass" Figure?

to mine surprised, i got attacked.ranging from i tried to rib shame Halle Berry or i am trying to "fluster" people and body shame, to i am being negative. i was even told to fuck off.

i just read my question again, and i can't fathom how they come to this conclusion, even after i explained i was just asking a question.

it seems me many of those posters are too sensitive and read things into my question and thread that simply isn't there.

what do you think?

so how would you ask this question differently? i asked because i want to learn.
This specific question is stuipd I wouldn't ask it.
All the pictures you showed the women are sucking in their stomachs any person regardless of age will have their ribs showing if they're that body type.

how is it stupid?

it is a question on women's physiology which i don't know much about.

as far as the photos go, i think most of photos are like that.

anyway, i was hoping for some input in terms of how i can phrase things differently.

but thanks anyway.

Come on man. Really? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that was not going to work out. Would you ask your mom and sister that question?

i would actually.

given how i asked it, i know my mom and my sister would not take offense because they don't read into things.

Human physiology is the same for both men and women aside from factor such as reproduction. Fitness is only incrementally different.

I'll break it down even further. It's a stupid question because a woman who is 20 and a woman who is 40 who have the same body weight will look exactly the same given the same the poses, both will have their ribs showing. Age doesn't make a difference.

Further the way you titled the thread is grammatically incorrect if English isn't your first language then ok im sorry but if it is then you have to see how it's not worded properly.

And even if it was worded differently. Women at 40 and a younger woman who have the exact same body composition doing the same pose will look relatively the same. How is it that hard to understand

well, yes and no.

while both women and men ages, my understanding is they struggles with different issues. for example, men don't have problem with cellulites etc. just like women don't struggle with potbelly.

it is good you explained it though, thank you for that

i also appreciate you answered mine original question in the women's forum.

i didn't know that.

English is mine second language actually, so how would you word this question if you were writing it?

like I said I wouldn't word it differently because the question is stupid the women being 40 years old has nothing to do with how they look. There are fit people at all ages.

I think it is particularly weak of you to turn around and start this post which doesn't let the ladies participate in. If you really want an answer how about we move this thread and have the ladies of the site let you know how to ask the question.
I dunno, shouldn't we be checking our "own" as it were? I mean I personally agree and would pose a question in a way that anyone could answer..but for his particular type of question(a dumbly premised one at best), isn't there some emotional labor argument against relying on women yet again to correct things he should've learned on his own by now?
And given AAW has a thread that seems almost tailor made for this particular question(Asinine questions....) My bet is he's more keen on getting justified annoyance here than justified hostility there...
what do you think?
That you asked a stupid question and now the race is on for you to stop trying to justify its premise, or language, and realize that sometimes the words that pop up in your head don't need to be transcribed by computer keyboard or phone(and that if such premises continually seem to generate from your mind that you may need to practice some serious introspection).

First things first: you didn't ask a question. You made a statement but ended it with a question mark:
"i noticed Liz Hurley, Halle Berry and Christie Brinkley all have great figures which i am sure they worked hard for, but for some reason or another, their rib cage is protruding quite prominently?"

You say that you wanted to learn. Learn what? What is it you were curious to know?

Because of the way you phrased that sentence, coupled with a very awkwardly phrased title, it definitely read like a judgment.

so you are saying if i phrased it like a question

such as "do women over 40 usually struggles with this and that"

it would be better?

thanks

What is it that you think they're are struggling with specifically? Because if it has to do with their ribs that has nothing to do with their age.
