Have you ever lied about yourself on the internet?

I agree with you Rob on this thread & your thoughts...
and many time I too wonder for some who do this...'what's your point & motives or purpose'?
Then too, it just may be too scary to know the truth (smile)
Truth sometimes, as said, is stranger than fiction.
However, I carefully choose the method of not to lie...just be selective with FYI.
I remember my folks (grandpa/grandma) always said...you can never tell the same lie twice (smile) and I believe that is true when you think about it.
But...isn't the whole scheme of many things in this world we live in, a lie...
hate it!

No. The only thing I lie about is my real name and personal information like that if it comes up.
Though, everyone who has seen my pictures thinks they're fakes, just because I blurred them up to feel more secure about posting on the internet. Why would I lie about having a little more than a six inch penis? I don't get it.

People won't believe anything 100% unless they have no reason not to.
Example: signature saying 7.5x6, has no pictures posted, doesn't post much on site, just a generally anonymous user: people will believe this. Why?
Why not? There isn't any reason to not believe a random size, as long as it is fairly reasonable (no 15 inchers), when it is about someone you don't know and don't give a fuck about. It doesn't matter if they don't have pictures, they might as well have a 7 or 8 inch dick, you don't know them, and it would be fruitless to question something that may or may not be true from someone you do not know (probably anything about).

Don't mean to be a thread stealer, just got carried away a bit.

I haven't lied yet and I'm not planning on doing so.

The only thing I did was: made a hotmail account specifically to join this site, in order to keep my privacy.

I'm not hung, more like small to average, I already said it when I introduced myself. I don't post pics because I don't own a camera, I'm not very good with computers and all and because this is the lpsg and not the small or average penis support group.

Have you ever pretended to be someone else or otherwise misled people online as to your sex/gender, looks, relationship status, or something else? Ever tried to pass off someone else's photos as your own?
None of the above.. it's hard enough for people to believe I'm of age never mind trying to convince them I'm someone else.

I am sure that there are those out there that feel the need to lie about themselves and have an alter ego but the truth is I could never do that. It upsets me when I am accused of being a fake and sometime have been refered to as my husband alter ego. THAT REALLY UPSETS ME.

I don't have the need to hide myself under false pretenses.

It bothers me greatly because this person lied and made an impression on people and then are discovered as a false personility. This makes people doubt the reliability of the internet. They make it hard for the rest of us to be taking seriously.

This is usually after I've already explained that I want to keep my name a secret a few times. If I volunteered a name to you without you asking for it many times, you know my real name.
I know your name, I just can't spell it.

Interesting responses.

Does it bother you when you discover (or are told that) someone is lying about themselves online? If so, how much does it bother you, and why?

Ah, Jon Bon Jovi,...ermm.... I mean Rob.... It kind of bothers me when people lie about themselves. I get upset mainly because of the fact that I tend to trust people fairly easy. There is nothing worse than being led to believe you are friends with someone, only to have them yank the carpet out because they think you can't handle the truth.

I'll never bitch at you, I never lie

My main problem is gay men pretending to be women. It gives the other gays a bad rep. And its misleading to others, some like Jeff who might get quite involved/attached to the faker.

Now, back to work. I'm a movie star don't you know

I would say guys pretending beings girls is the worst. This is extremely common in this site , the vast mayority of "girls" on this site are really guys.

Concur,....easily detectable on a number of fronts...

When you see a few posts, including endowed female measurements, under 24 yrs of age, and how much they worship huge ________ time to the BS flag up.

First of all, I'm not a fool, young man. I know what's going on in the world. When I was younger, I wasn't as 'wise'.

Second, I'm the movie star.

I withhold information for my own sake, but no, I don't lie. And, yeah, that means that I've got an asshole side, too, which I rarely unleash.

Staying honest means that I don't have to keep a bunch of stories straight. And, when people realize that I'm not bullshitting them, they just might listen to what I have to say (even though they usually don't).

I have very little respect for people who lie -- period.

No real reason to lie. If you actually meet someone in real life they'll find out the truth anyway. There's no use trying to lie about who you are. Compliments to a fake persona are just that, fake. What good does that do?

I'd rather admit that I'm not much of anything, and if someone can accept me for who I am, fine. If not, that's okay too. They'll find out anyway later.
I can't see how lies and fake pictures will help...
