For some reason HBO has decided not to continue with a new season of Rome. While the script and the acting wasn't award winning, there were some really nice men to enjoy. I will miss Rome as I do Carnivale.

You should be able to download future episodes from the internet. Try somewhere like Limewire.

I check the official HBO website, no word of cancellation. There was this posted in the forums.

* NEW 8/19/2006 - Lee Boardman has started principal photography on the second series of the epic BBC/HBO co-production ROME. Lee shoots in Rome until September and next season promises some fresh and exciting storylines for his character Timon

Of course realize that the 2nd season is in the middle of 2007.

Rome has been cancelled already? After only one season? Were the ratings low? I wonder why they did that?

The budget was mega.
Reviews poor . The violence was off-putting too.
Lines like "Lucius, Eat your testicles" !
Kevin McKidd is so sexy (for a ginger)....

well, i loved watching Rome. the violence and sexuality only made it better in my eyes. it what they did in ancient Rome. Rome's not cancelled though. it's expected to be back next year.

Something that I find amusing is how 'Mericuhns treat nudity (especially male frontal nudity) as something shocking like a peek of stocking in the Cole Porter song Anything Goes. In the UK it's known among the acting crowd as "Getting one's kit off." (There may be two Ts in the word kit, I'm not certain.) But Spanish and British actors seem to be willing to drop trousers and all without a bit of concern -- at least those I've encountered or seen on stage in rehearsal.

The French, however, are even more up tight than 'Mericuhns about displaying their willies in public.

I guess I've just been living too long out of the good ol' USA.
