Can anyone explain to me how they choose thier new names? I mean do they throw darts at a board with the names on them or what?

Wow Nelson, that's one hell of a rant, who do you think you are, me?Anyway, it's obvious you have a vendetta out for Nixxy, I just don't share it. If someone said they didn't give a shit about Clinton because they thought he was a liar, I'd probably retort, but I can assure you it wouldn't come to threats. Feel free to check all my posts, it's never come to that yet.
I wonder why you feel the need to say Nixxy knows nothing. I guess it helps discredit someone's view if you put them down, I just don't think that's the best way to get your point across, it just escalates bad vibes. Anyway, this was supposed to be about the new Pope, and I wish him well. We've never shied away from controvery here nor hesitated to post opposing views on various subjects, I hope it stays that way. Just my .02, for once.

Now for the cheerleading portion of the post, Nixxy, I commend your passion. Nothing gets done by standing idly by, I think you could have a good deal of impact on others in your lifetime.

First of all, both of you calm down, you're both acting like children. There are definately better ways to get both your points across, there is no need to resort to ad hominem attacks.
Second of all, the picking of a new pope is not really going to amount to much of anything in regards to reforming the church, Catholic Doctrine is pretty firmly set, and the pope does nothing much when it comes to radical change. He might be able to make small strides in the right direction (yes I said "right direction" because I feel their current direction to be horribly wrong) but he won't be able to do much, considering his age.
Third of all ( and I know this is retarded, but I like arguing semantics) If someone was once a member, although a coerced member, of any political group they should be called "a former member of said group." He was a member of the Nazi party, so he was a Nazi. The problems come because of the extremely negative connotations attached to the term "nazi". Just because he was once a member, does not make him a horrible human being, but he was still a Nazi.

Ratzinger isn't the first German Pope, he's the first one in a thousand years. I was rooting for Cardinal Sin of Manilla.

Wow, Nelson, I don't think that was a good call to threaten to hit someone because you didn't like what he said, that just might be a first around here.
I do hope this Pope will do something about corruption within the church, I believe that is what the insiders could do best, but it would be nice to see a man in that position who wouldn't be as anti-gay as he seems to be. I'll take a wait and see attitude, but I'm really tired of the attitudes of intolerance from government and religion, I just don't understand the benefits of any of it.

Woah, woah, woah.
Nelson buddy....calm down. This is yet another misunderstanding, but taken to another level.
First, I must say this: A threat is a threat. It does not matter if you intended to do it, or you didn't. Threats are taken seriously, because it is assumed preemptive strike/physical or mental harm. You criticize Nixxy for not talking with grace, but I find personal threats to be some of the most vulgar behavior, especially if someone does not think twice while posting it. On a side note, I'm pretty sure Nixxy could kick your ass; I know him personally and also believe me, that picture is misleading (take it for what you will)
When Nixxy said "I don't give a shit" (which is what I assume started this quarrel), he meant he doesn't give a shit about a church not changing overnight or any of what you said. All of that doesn't matter IF the Pope is ardent in hating homosexuals. Just as the doctorine does not matter; a Pope basically calls the shots in the church and changes things, most of the time to his pleasing or the people's pleasing, which can be dangerous.
Also, adult manner? Err....perhaps you should practice what you preach? Because we all know how adult, "I'll beat the shit outta you" sounds.
Nixxy: The pope is not a Nazi. Oh, and yes, if you spread something around and your source is wrong you are just as responsible. If someone acuses another of being something they are not and you continue to spread said rumour, you are just as guilty as the original conspirator. You heard he is a Nazi, you've heard he's not - that would logically mean you have chosen by which point you wish to stand, thus becoming your opinion. On that count you are guilty as charged.
Much love to the both of you....let's all just get along *hugs and kisses*
On topic: Best of Luck to the new pope.
