Hey y'all I don't really frequent this part of the site (i used to many years ago) but I figured this would be a great place to get some music ideas. I have a big audience here with a wide array of musical tastes to tap into.

I'm a jazz vocalist. I'd love to say up and coming but it sounds weird to me. I'd rather say I'm simply dedicated. I sing at venues and often get invited to sing at other venues from MCs and musicians and what not. Enough about all that *jazz* but....

I take anything from classical, rap/hip hop, hard metal, etc. and turn it into jazz. No, not like Richard Cheese (who does it more as satire in a lounge singer's voice).

I want y'all to drop some of your favorite songs...hell drop a few. YouTube links are ideal so I can hear it. For you fellow musicians, I sing ideally in the registers of keys E to G. So if you grasp that then throw the good stuff at me!

Mr. LPSG says it's cool if I drop my YouTube here (not really why I'm posting here but if you want to peruse my renditions and get a feel for my voice or see a few of my live singing clips go for it!).

I'm anxious to expand my repertoire. If I resonate with a song I'll record it in my home studio and upload it. If I really, really like it I'll sing behind mic in front of an audience and record it.

Go!

Here's a little clip...go from there to see my other stuff. I do anything from Johnny Cash to Disney Villains! Thanks to any and all of you who give me ideas. I can't wait!

I actually play the flute.

If we ever get together... You sing, I'll play.

(I'm not that good, but I'm pretty fuckin OK)

That's friggin awesome. My kiddo started on a flute and moved on to jazz saxophone. I remember the countless hours of flute practice in our house. The dog didnt like it at all. lol

Edit: sorry if my song choices are weird. Other than that Cage the Elephant one, they're all songs that are "feelz" heavy for me. Which makes me think they might be good for what you're looking for

@Fade

Tonight I was at an upscale jazz club in the downtown area. I went in to see a show and didnt realize we needed tickets. Ironically the talent manager came to talk to us. I told him I am a jazz vocalist and he gave me his card and told me to send him something. I've been at odds about what to send in. This is it! Thanks so much for the inspiration!! When I hit the bigtime you and Rem are getting tickets in the mail!

I know it's a bit of a boring suggestion. You could change it to HER red right hand?

Omg one of my favorite songs!!! I'll see if I can get tabletures and record it tonight. I just showed up to a live metal concert and 3 people have already recognized me from my music. I dont even live in this city. Cray!!!

This one is dedicated to my parents who just celebrated their 41st. I was surprised how many people enjoyed it.

And then the vibrato magic with Patsy Cline (one of my favorite female vocalists)

Nice.
I think you gotta head out to Nashville. I've never been there, but from what I heard, there is so much going on there, so many opportunities to get started, etc.
Or maybe Memphis. A long, long time ago (30 years, at least) I used to hit a tiny local bar to watch Barbara Blue. Then I left town, and then she packed up and went out to find her fortune. And no, there's no more to the story--I'd never actually met her but I liked to drink beer and listen.
