Question for those of you that have erection difficuties or trouble maintaining an erection.

Did you Visit a Urologist? What did you discuss and what was the exam like?

I'm going to be seeing a new urologist and not sure what to expect.
The last time I went, they did an ultrasound on my testicles, looked at my puny pecker said I didn't have any signs of infection, and handed me a bottle of levitra.

I'd really like to know if they test for the ED issue being physical or mental. Not sure if they actually do this in the office, or just prescribe ED meds. Either way, I'm still going...but would like a prep.

If you've had experiences on a visit, please give a general outline of What your experience was, questions, and recommendations of your doc.
Please keep it legitimate and honest.

It seems there was a thread on this already...but I cant find the damn thing.

About 6 or 7 years ago, whenever I got an erection I couldn't keep it more than a few minutes. Couldn't manage an orgasm because I couldn't stay hard long enough to cum. I didn't hesitate to get to a urologist for an exam. He questioned my health habits and I told him I've never smoked, drink very little alcohol or coffee, and was on no meds. He checked my penis, testicles and prostate, which were completely normal and functioning properly. He took a blood sample to check for testosterone, cholesterol, and whatever, and said my cholesterol was a bit high which could be hampering blood circulation. The doc then told me it was probably due to aging (I was 68 at that time). He recommended Viagra for me, to improve the blood flow when I get aroused. I started with 25mg and wham, I had tremendous erections. After a couple years I started needing 50mg, and again had great results. Now I use 100mg each time I want to get it up and it is still working well. I get an erection in about 20 minutes and continue getting hard-ons for 5 to 6 hours. Viagra or Levitra work great for me, with no side effects. My only hope is that I don't lose the capability to get hard anytime soon.

Hornaplenty I have taken viagra in 100mg doeses and it works great but gives me what I call a hangover headache in the morning. I found I could get hard but exertion seemed to make it go down but with the viagra no problem, I have also tried cials in 20mg dose, urologist gave it to me as he felt it would not give me headaches, he was right and it last up to 4 days for me!!

Hi buffbaldy, that's an interesting comparison. I'm glad Cialis works so well for you. Oddly, Cialis is the one ED pill that gives me a headache, which lasts most of the day, so I never use it. I think the old adage applies: "Whatever turns you on!"
