I have been in a very difficult situation, and a very close friend of mine has been supportive after I have lost a family member, We live in different parts of the country so I can't always see him.
I know he has some issues where he lost money, and he is trying to get back on his feet, but I feel that he is not telling me everything and is holding back something.
I go from highs to lows, (self diagnosed bi - polar) and me and him are pretty close and talk daily, mostly via text, but sometimes voice.
Whenever I talk to him, he does 95% of the talking, and always tries to help me out, more like a councillor.
However I try and find out what it is in his life, he cleverly diverts the conversation. There is something I know he wants to say but is holding back.
He is very intelligent, but holds menial labouring jobs.
What kind of personality is this where they make up for something they are afraid or scared of or dont want to reveal so they immerse themselves in other people's problems?
I really want to help him, what is the best way to approach this?
