Help!

I’m washed out on ideas for a birthday outing with my sweetie. (His 68th)
Gifts are covered.
We are outdoorsy by nature, and more so now.

hiking trails will be too crowded, same with mountain town restaurants.

There is an outpost of a Santa Fe resto here, and it’s likely (plus I can go vegan easy as pie there, while he gets steak and salad with bacon).
He likes a particular Middle Eastern place, but I think it would be takeout. And there is a creek close by. I could make a picnic.

I’d like to get us a hotel, but he will squawk about me spending too much.
His gift is from a consignment shop, and he will likely know, sooooo... (It’s not a problem)

I’m also thinking about getting us somewhere to stargaze.

what would you like on a laid back summer birthday?

I tried to come up with something but I just don't really celebrate birthdays anymore. I haven't celebrated my own in forever, he never does either.

These past few years we just go for a drive, which we always do on my days off anyway, and make some kind of good food for each other/together. It's never really that much of a difference from any other day.

We wound up on a hiking trail to watch the sun set...uh....disappear behind the clouds that rolled in.
Middle Eastern dinner and a great hang naked in the backyard while talking.

I’m so glad I got him chairs for the pond/waterfall last year. We’ve used those chairs so much.
