Hey guys,

Recently I tried bottoming. I’m 25, but only bottomed once before 5-6 years ago. Issue is it’s was very painful throughout and after sex. Like for hours, even the next day and it hurts on the inside of my anus. I’m 99% sure it’s hemorrhoids as I’ve head issues before with them. Is there anything I could do to treat this? I did talk to doctor but thought I might try here as I prefer natural remedies before medication/surgery.

Appreciate a lot.

I had issues with toys (no guys yet). Diet is a huge part. Processed foods can "fuel the fire". I finally had a minor surgery during my colonoscopy. I had a growth right at the opening. If my diet was bad, it swelled to the point walking was not enjoyable. Now no problem. But the healing is slow, not bad, just slow. It was a couple months before I tried anything. Now I love it again!

Over-the-counter you can use Preparation H for temporary relief.

What bothers me is why you bottom when it's so painful. Are you preparing and lubing adequately? Is your partner responsive to your experience? After some initial discomfort it's supposed to feel really good.

Ok thank you guys. Looks like I need colonoscopy but don’t have insurance, unemployed atm and don’t qualify for Medicaid

Mineral oil is available over the counter to ease bowel movements and help hemorrhoids/fissures heal. Works by coating the colon to reduce pressure. Fair warning, really keeps things loose and if you take too much can have a real mess.

No. Colonoscopies are for detecting cancer. What you're describing is what happens when you stick something up your ass without proper preparation.

I'd do a twofold approach. First, increase your diet to have more fiber. You could try natural supplements to help with this too, such as stool softeners like psyllium or a miralax type product to help too. If you're having it regularly, you can also supplement with sitz baths. The second part would be, as others above have said, to listen to your body. Don't bottom if your ass can't handle it today. There's always another day to try bottoming when you aren't in pain.
