I think he should have worded himself a little better but I understand where he is coming from. Most women now days will accuse a man of being a sexist if he tries to hold a door open for them. In todays world the rules of courtship have changed, some people are old fashioned but now some people follow this new set of rules that can get a man torn down for a perceived slight.

I think he is getting too much hate and criticism. He isn't trying to make himself a victim, he is just stating an opinion. But like I said he should have worded himself a little better.

I have never come across a person female or male who has been offended by myself or anyone else holding a door open for them. Needless to say I don't think he's had to open a door for himself or anyone else since he became famous for being a superhero actor.

I understand where he was coming from. He probably didn't word it the best. The current culture, especially surrounding celebrities, has become so inflamed and litigious that it is better not to take any chances. What you may think is an innocent remark or gesture could be misconstrued and then it's a huge mess.

I totally agree what he said. False accusations of rape and assault has always been prevalent . Its so easy to accuse men with assault and rape, all you need to do is accuse him he ll get arrested and prosecuted without any evidence.

This is absolute nonsense. You'd have to be completely delusional to think a random woman could accuse him of rape and that's it, arrested and prosecuted with no evidence. That's not the way rape investigations work, especially for a celebrity.

Well it might not happen specifically to him but to normal everyday men it does. In the UK theres been a huge scandal lately where group young men were falsely accused to rape in different cases. They lost their job their place in uni their pictures were shared by many media outlets. the police hid the evidence such as text and whatsup from the authorities which could easily proved that they were innocent. Yet the women who falsely accused them their identities were protected

Not nearly as prevalent as actual rape. It’s incredibly rare for anybody to even get convicted of rape when they did do it because there is an inherent lack of evidence so if you really think a false accusation is going to get him locked up you are very wrong and it’s actually incredibly harmful to even talk about false rape accusations as if they’re some kind of epidemic sweeping the nation because they aren’t and never have been. What kind of person makes false rape accusations?

If this is true he even lost more points with me because it means that he is one of those entitled straight guys who thinks feminism is destroying society and they are now the victims. It also means that he likes being in control of women and preying on them because he is "all that". What a fucking douche.

Really disappointing if this is true :( I guess there’s no way of knowing..

Just look at the response he's getting. He says he doesn't want his action or words be taken out of context, they are taken out of context and used to attack him. These people are literally proving him right.

People doing damage control often say "don't take what I said out of context". In this case, we weren't given a one liner of what he said. We got the whole deal so that out of context line in this case is damage control.
