Hi. How Do I "start A Conversation"

I keep seeing that the way to message someone here is to click on their username, then click start a conversation, but I don't see start a conversation anywhere, not on the little window that pops up when you click their name, not on their profile, nowhere. I've tried searching the forums for the solution. Please somebody make this clear to me like I'm 2 years old, with screenshots or diagrams. I'd be forever grateful

Hi, wellcome to the site.

This is the computer version, you have "start a conversation" under the other persons avatar.

This is the mobile version, you have to touch the other user's nickname and start a conversation will appear at the bottom.

You need to be a member for two days or make three posts before being able to start a conversation. This is a spam deterrent.

I just got a 'you may not start' message when I tried to say hi to a friend I suggested join.

Two days or 5 posts I believe before new members can have conversations

Hello, you don't see them when you click on the mail icon in the top right corner?

another longer option would be to start a conversation with me, then click 'Conversations' above the input field:
