So anyway, I purchased this new television. It's one of those new fangled low definition flat panel things, with sound coming out of all sorts of places, I got nervous the first time I turned it on when a blue screen appeared and I realized that televisions were now posing as computers. Well, I followed the instructions and soon I found myself watching El Gordo Y La Flaca, Sabado Gigante and the morning news with some scantily clad woman on channel 41 or 47. Later I went over to watch the Top Chef show and was mighty disappointed-Manuel Trevino has been let go. Of course that happened a few weeks ago; but, no matter, I get to watch it week after week after week after week... Up until the season ends and then again in countless reruns over the next several months. I wonder if Top Designer will be back soon-it'd be a pity to have this new set and not have that program coming around again.
Things have changed since I was younger and a television worked as soon as it was plugged into a wall outlet. Sure, sometimes there was a need to adjust the rabbit ears and the fine tuner around the dial. I'll never forget my thrill of seeing The Rookies for the first time. Back then we had a black and white Zenith and channel 7 (ABC) didn't come in. One evening while alone in the apartment I fiddled with the set and the next thing I new, there was an image!
