It's only the fifth and already I'm gritting my teeth with a fixed smile at the obnoxiously cheerful Christmas music played effing constantly by annoyingly perky coworkers.
Enough!
Twenty days of madness left to endure yet so I thought I might repay them by playing some Xmas tunes of my own. I'm looking for songs in the spirit of the season that either mock it outright or are listenable without the cavity inducing triteness.
My list so far for my "Holy Inappropriate Christmas" CD :
YouTube - The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl - Fairytale of New York
YouTube - The Darkness - Christmas Time (Don't Let The Bells End)
YouTube - The Kinks -- Father Christmas (better audio)
YouTube - Barenaked Ladies - Elf's Lament
I have several others I couldn't find clips for, including a carol sung in Klingon.
For non-cloying Xmas positive music I like -
YouTube - DAVID FOSTER NATALIE COLE GROWN UP CHRISTMAS LIST
YouTube - Faith Hill - Where Are You Christmas
YouTube - U-MV160 - Sting - Gabriel's Message
If any of you have any other suggestions for 'non traditional' Xmas music I'd be grateful if you'd share it.
