Ever wonder why Palin says "Hockey Mom"? Well the answer is very few African Americans play hockey--Even though there are several of the greatest players of all time are black--from Grant Fuhr to Tony McKegney, any the list goes on and on--too many to mention. But in general there are few compaired to whites. Each time she says "Hockey Mom" that is her way of setting herself above black folks. Or in other words each time she says it she is really saying "I hate black people" So she is just like George Bush--we all know he seriously hates black people. Think about it next time you hear "Hockey Mom"

:lmao: I don't like Palin or McCain but I think you're full of crap on this one.

First off Republicans aren't exactly a fan of black people in general anyway they don't need a code phrase to let that be known. :duh:

I think she had to start saying that as a way of seeming 'of the people.' Unlike McCain who has no idea how many houses his wife owns. It's the political equivalent of saying, I know how much a loaf of bread and gallon of milk cost.

Even I think that's a stretch, and I don't think I've had many good things to say about Republicans this year.

True, dat.
But if it's one of the first things you say about yourself, it marks out big-time mediocrity.

(Not racism, though. That's a real stretch.)

Only someone completely obsessed with race think these things.

Would it be the same if she was a "Soccer Mom"???

You know sometimes things aren't as complicated and racist as you like to think.

Maybe she is a mom who has kids that play hockey, and that she wants to show that she is just a regular person by labeling herself a 'hockey mom'.

What kind of country do we live in where we have to be careful about labels as benign as 'hockey mom' in order to not offend. Gee stop being so sensitive.

I was under the impression that "Hockey mom" was actually a term used to rally all the women of the world into a mutiny.

Soon, they won't cook dinner OR do our laundry.

Is my eyes deceiving me, or is this a thread where conservatives AND liberals actually agree on something? Can we sticky this? This is some kind of history in the making, isn't it??!?

Hey yeah!

Yep, I agree with the liberals and the conservatives here on this one.

(Although in the normal dimension, I'm a liberal and Obama supporter... but no, I don't think of the term "Hockey mom" as racist. I just thought of it as a colder-climate version of "Soccer mom"...)
