I had the most marvellous honeymoon the memories of which will stay forever etched. The sex was good and plentiful, or course, but the settings and background were what made it unique. Everyone has heard of Zimbabwe and the current crisis, but in 1986 it was a beautiful country, relatively prosperous, and it was enjoying the peace of majority rule. Zimbabwe has one of the most perfect climates in the world.
My wife is black Zimbabwean, and even though we met in Australia we got married and had our honeymoon in her country. So after a b-i-g African wedding, we set off for Lake Kariba, and stayed in the most romantic resort next to the game reserves. It had single bungalows spread around dozens of hectares of perfectly maintained gardens and hardly a guest staying there. We spent a lot of time in our bungalow, surfacing for the evening meal, as well as touring the game reserves and doing the obligatory boat cruise on the lake. At night, it was best to stay indoors as wild animals were prone to roaming the grounds of the resort.
Next stop was Victoria Falls, which is the widest waterfall in the world. Again a lovely resort style hotel, servants everywhere (labour is cheap), and a lovely romantic backdrop. The falls are magnificent, almost beyond description. We travelled by bus to Bulawayo, and then the overnight sleeping train to the falls. A romantic way to travel, and of course we had sex on the train to start the day!
As for the sex, it was good and plentiful. Traditionally African, my wife was a virgin when we married. Traditionally African she was more than willing to learn, and she learned a lot over those weeks. I enjoyed teaching her, of course, and a more relaxing backdrop to our lessons could not have been found.
