I’ve been in both and prefer Ananas because of the showers. In my experience when you book a small room (4 people) they put only males there, even in coed rooms. That happened to me in Ananas last winter and I slept naked every night

You could say you would prefer a all male room if possible when checking in. They can only say no. Or tell you why they do not offer it.

You can also just say its your religious teachings you want to observe if possible (Musilm or Christian) lol - it has worked for me. I definitely find guys easier to be with in dorms, less chatting incessantly and spreading stuff all over the place, and less annoying cheap smelling fragrances - just my preferences - less worrying too when changing, farting and burping too.
