I love the American way of life and the general system 99%, but when it comes to privacy....worlds clashing.

Unless he is some kind of Jeckyl/Hyde person, I can't understand how they couldn't work it out and stay together. Makes no sense. Unless one of them cheated. It's very sad to hear because they both seem very cool and well suited for each other. It's silly to fanboy so much like this over strangers, but I've been watching his channels for a LONG time - not just for the eye candy, but for the fact that he is very entertaining and charismatic. I will miss the car racing the most, loved those episodes.

Two years ago Germany's most popular youtuber power couple divorced out of absolutely nowhere that no one could have ever foreseen. No signs at all. A few weeks after the announcement if became ridiculously obvious that he is gay, goes through a hardcore midlife crisis and she cheated on him with her dancing partner from Dancing with the Stars. For their appearances on the channel however they played the perfect family.
Matt made a bunch of videos in the last months where the Mere situation with stalking and harrassment from fans more and more escalated and even got to his kids, trespassing his property, etc. Maybe she or the grandparents set an ultimatum of sorts. Then the Trump assassin situation that must have brought a ton of negative attention as well, especially from people who definitely weren't fans of his channel.
Doesn't always have to be a cheating thing, which I seriously doubt in their case. Other factors can put a strain on a relationship. The fact that he sells his dream home looks more like an invasion of privacy from third parties and the lack of security and anonymity for his family.
(Also the fact that youtube and tik tok become more and more regulated against his content)
