Yep, they were around, but who was your personal favorite T.V dads from the 80s?

Mine are:

Josh Taylor from The Hogan Family

Alan Thicke from Growing Pains

Tim Allen from Home Improvement

Greg Evigan from My Two Dads(definitely hot daddy material. He should have kept that beard!)

Mine are:

Mr. Drummond from Diff'rent Strokes

Willie Tanner (ALF's dad)

and George Papadapolis (Webster's dad)

just kidding :) I don't think I lusted for any dads back then. I was more into Bo Duke, Thomas Magnum, and Superman :)

John Winchester Supernatural played ever so lushly by one Mr Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
Jonathan Kent Smallville duke boy resurrected John Schneider.

Did anyone else think that Robert Reed (Mr Mike Brady) was attractive?

Early, pre-perm Mike Brady was very attractive. The short hair, sideburns, and slim, mod wardrobe made him pretty hot :)

Then the perms came along and that was the end.

I think it's so cool how he cherished and cultivated relationships with each one of his Brady kids!

and ended up dying of AIDS while promoting a "family" series with an iron-hand?:eek: hypocrite?

My appologies. I thought someone started a topic based on television dads, but I can't go through the whole chapter to find them. So I just came up with it.

Alan Thicke was so much better looking than his own son, Robin. There was an episode from Growing Pains where that did show a clip of Alan Thicke from his 1960s heydays as a teen idol. I wish someone had that, though.
