How comfortable are men with being nude in communal showers and locker rooms in your country or culture?

I go to a college gym (DCU) in Dublin & most guys do the towel dance. Only ever seen guys get bare ass naked and talk a few times. Wish I was in a gym here where lads felt comfortable naked

But "let's have some modesty in communal showers"? Why? If guys want to strip fully nude to properly shower in a communal setting there should be nothing wrong with that. If other guys in the same space want to shower in their swimming trunks, again, that's their choice. If some thing others should be 'modest' by covering up, that's their problem not mine. I hate having to shower in my trunks after a swim - but sometimes there's no choice depending on where I am....but if there's a chance to shower fully nude in the men's area and the only showers are communal then I'm doing to do exactly that, just like many others do.

It's an environment where nudity should be acceptable and NOT wrong - and not worry about modesty. Again if other guys have an issue with it, and it's not against the venue's rules, then it's your problem not mine.

Yeah this is very true in the UK&I, nudity isn't common but everything else is. All the way from teenagers to lads in their early 20s

In my gym I try to shower and strip as often as I can, being fit and all that. I groom myself to a high standard, especially my ass + cock & balls. After a shower I'm erect most of the time, usually I don't hide it if everyone else in the room seems relaxed. Noticed that lads were hesitant to take a shower at first, but eventually decided to take one when they saw me doing it.

Actually, yes. Well, let me speculate. I know it'll never happen,but imagine a world where guys grew up surrounded frequently with other guys in various scenes where they had to be naked AND (and this is the point), the culture promoted the older guys being SUPPORTIVE of the younger: talking openly about what it was like to grow up, talking candidly about body changes, generally acknowledging that growing up can be hard but that the younger guys will have mentors, etc. Compare that to the culture of harm that you find so much: teams that haze their new players in a misguided attempt to make them "tough." If we all had this kind of mentor relationship with an older guy in our formative years, men's psyche's wouldn't be so warped.

When you can, go to an onsen in japan or jjimjilbang in korea, this is the norm for centuries now. You don't have to imagine it.

I'm imagining a world where as guys grow up they always have a slightly older dude who helps them go thru various stages of becoming a man--support, fun times, serious talks, no mockery, encouragement for a guy whose development is slower than his buddies, etc. The scenario I see is one naturally growing up, not merely attending a naked spa as an adult.

I used to go to a gym when I was younger and generally men didn't have any problems with nudity, actually they used to wait naked until they could shower, especially men in their 40s and 50s and with different sizes. I remember only a guy who used to get undressed in the shower.
I don't know nowadays cause I haven't been in a gym in years but I think that in smaller or particular big gyms everyone is ok with nudity

I was pretty lucky to have this sort of relationship with the men in my family growing up.

I totally get what you mean, cause sometimes we have lot of closed minds and prudery, but I think that when men are in a small contest, when they feel safe and comfortable, they tend to be much open and easygoing. I'm pretty sure that some of these guys in my gym loved to stay naked and being watched by other guys
