The only accurate way to measure an upward curved penis is using a cloth tape measure bone pressed and then drawing the exact curve on a piece of paper to determine the actual usable/functional length; then using a piece of metal wire that bends according to the curve angle. Flat ruler on top stuff doesn't work for upward curves as you will always lose a minimum of half an inch using something flat. Usually you lose an entire inch that is not even taken into account due to the gap between the flat ruler and your penis shaft.
Same measuring would apply to sideways curves if he was unable to get it to point straight.

To my opinion measuring a curved cock following the curve is wrong. A measurement is done with a straight line between two points. Start of penis and end of penis. And I don't see the point doing it any other way. Then I am also allowed to measure my dick with a cloth tape to the tip and that way adding length. Just like most people do when using a tape.

Use one uniform way to measure and stick to it.

The problem is that simply measuring along the curve is not a solution and will always measure longer than the real length (which most guys like to do).
