what rubi said. if you don't naturally have an ass, you've got to put some muscle on your glutes under the fat to make it stick out all nice an' perty. ellipticals are well known for sculpting fine asses. there are some other exercises to target the gluteal muscles too. i've only had a sore ass once (muscle sore, not sex sore), and it was from doing lots and lots of glute kickbacks and some of the other exercises on that page. Walking lunges are evil, but they work.

There's a class at my gym called "Butts and Guts." You might want to see if your local Y has something like that if you're really into it.

the only other way is surgical.

what's so wrong with a muscular ass, anyway?

I was born with my bubble butt. Runs in the family. But, I've been a long-distance runner since high-school. Go to the gym frequently. The best exercises I've found for the ass include;
squats (holding free weights)
lunges (holding free weights)
Lifting weights can, over time, help refine your body. Put the work in and you will get results. Focus on a 'balanced' routine.
Also...
STAIRMASTER!! ...not the pussy stairmaster with the pedals, the one with the never-ending revolving staircase. It's a love-hate relationship, trust me ;). It is an AWSOME work out for the legs, and especially the ass.

Tnx., snoozie.

Actually, lunges are what I meant to say, rather than squats, though they're useful too.
I do walking lunges, and they are evil. But they open up everything below your navel. (You have to let yourself sink low, achieve good posture, and squeeze the abs, and hold the position for a few seconds ... pretty much all in one move. Not easy).

Indeed. A bubble butt needs lots of tone, otherwise you just get Methusaluh ass. Not good.

In my book, a buble butt is a muscular but. The muscle is the foundation for the shape. Judging by his pictures, I'd follow the advice advice of buddy629 (fans his face..).
I've been slender all my life and have had success with squats. Other possibilities are the leg press, which is a machine so it's somewhat safer than squats, leg curls which seem to help define the junction between the glutes and the vastus lateralis, and lunges.

Lunges and Squats are the best bet I am told, while funnily enough Spin classes help curve and build and firm up the glutes because you are constantly moving them on the bike. I suppose that's why so many bikers I see around town have such great large and curvy bums LOL And mormon missionaries ;)

Oh and buddy629 - your bum is to die for !

The ass cheeks are muscles so to change the size/shape without surgery you need to work out.

I've got pretty muscular glutes, and I've done a lot of biking, lunges, packing up hills, etc. You REALLY feel the burn in the top of your bum after doing a few sets of walking lunges with a couple of 50 pound dumbbells.

I just need to find out a way to take off the extra nonmuscular mass and they would be world class -- guess I need to ratchet up the cardio.
