At first glance I thought " I like talking to the same face" then I realized I wanted to change mine! I stay within a theme. Or a mood. If it causes distress I am genuinely sorry but I have ADHD so how the hell can I stay constant? Lol

*The theme is usually sun and moon or a combination of two celestial bodies merging to symbolize my internal commitment or sometimes deep space to signify my interest in the deep and unknown*

Nico,

It was a little confusing at first. Especially when it was someone I'd come to associate with a certain avatar. The avatar was the person as far as my posts were concerned. Then suddenly there's a stranger talking to me about something... and I'm confused (yes more so than normal.) Ahhh... it's NICO with a new avatar :) So I've changed mine again now as well, I think this is my forth change thanks to the thread.

Think I like this current one a bit more as far as the other avatars are concerned. The tender nature of the art is sweet.

Might be, might not be........

i am kinda okay with you thinking about doin' things with my kitteh
*buh-dum-dum-ching*

It can throw you, but then it's interesting how people wish to present themselves and then change that.

Aw, thanks! So far I've been three fairies and a baby polar bear rolling on it's back. I got complaints from friends over the baby bear, while cute wasn't me so I changed it:rolleyes:

Your new one made me think of an old song "total eclipse of the heart." I relate most things I see to a song.:biggrin1:

Lol yah. I do that alot too. My life needs a soundtrack. When its quiet my brain wants to eat itself. I always need to be occupied or I go flipping bonkers. I liked how it coupled my love of the sun/moon theme with my love for the celestial.

Thank you to all who have replied!

I of course LOVE changing my avatars and enjoy seeing what people choose as theirs (even though there is that moment of "huh?" followed by "AH!"

In my under a year here I have been (in what i think is the orderof apperance) the following:

Greed: homunculus of Full metal alchemist. Small black and white, sitting pose.

Little Slugger: Paranoia Agent. Color backlit silouette.

My eyes: Close up of my eyes, had for like 2 weeks. Still in private album.

Paranoia Agent collage: All the characters on white background with Little Slugger in the center. RawDog like that one.

FLCL: Main character, Naota, with guitar, looking upward.

Greed: Duel pic, color, of my fav homunculus.

My eyes: Close up b/w pic of my eyes. I think oneof the sub sisters liked that one.

Death and Sexton: Form Death the High Cost of Living (and Sandman Mythos)

Destiny: of the endless from the Sandman mythos.

The Corinthian: the second one. A creepy nightmare with mouths for eyes that, the first ime around, liked killing people and eating their eyes. Second incarnation was sexier and not as homocidal, so he, and not his predecessor, was my choice. lol

Delirium of the Endless: From the Sandman graphic :The Kindly Ones.

Death of the Endless b/w: one of my favorites.

Mad Hettie: Cool crazy immortal form the Sandman Universe.

And now Desire: Cool androgynous Endless, with some of the best ascerbic lines ever wrote!

I tend to go in themes (first anime/manga, now Sandman/Lucifer characters) with the occasional bit of me thrown in. They tend to represent how i am feeling, want to be feeling, thought process, interests, or just cuz i like how they look.

I don't mind avatars changing, I read the entire thread and who made each post anyway, so it makes little difference to me... I do get a little pissy when I particularly like an avatar and someone takes it away from me though!

I ponder changing mine on a regular basis, but in 5 years have only managed to change it once, it lasted maybe a month and I changed back... I just can't find one I'm happy with!

I understand some people's need to associate an ava with a person. It's the closest thing we have to ID'ing a person when speaking to them.

I like to change mine occasionally (simply b/c I get bored easily, and I like to show other/different parts of my body.) The very first ava I had was a lady sitting on a block (looks like ice with fire coming from it). I enjoy the animated gifs. They are fun.

I also had fun with Holiday cartoon avas. It's just fun for me. I think what most people associate with me (from comments) are the boobs and smile. So I put them in rotation quite frequently.:biglaugh:

When I see someone has a new ava, it's like a gift to me.:present:
Thank you for changing up.

But for the likes of Luke and Flameboy...I'm thinking it might be a major sin and not sure how many "Hail Mary's" you'd have to do if you changed your ava.:biggrin1::biggrin1::biggrin1:

^ This Avatar makes me happy! As for me I only heard some grumbling when I changed the avatar from what I had for the first year. Everyone got over it I think.
I like when people change them I think it offers a little insight into their personality.
*Fancy Pants makes me happy too but I was actually trying to post this under Aconitum's post*

What about keeping the same avatar but changing the corset? Like a flavor of the month thing? Just a thought. Hope it helps heh

I had a hard enough time standing still for one pic!

I HATE having my pic taken lol

Besides, who'd I get to animate my new ones? I guess I could do it myself, but that seems like an awful lot of effort

What is this sandman you keep referencing? Is it a comic/manga? I love comics and I haven't heard of that one.
It is a cool comic by Neil Gaiman that was printed originally as a 75 issue comic run (and one special) under the DC/Vertigo imprint, but has since been collected in 10 graphics.

Can pm you with more details if you wish:smile:
