Whoa. What is this all about? A Bookstore? Like Barnes & Nobles and Booksamillion?

I hooked up with a girl once at a Barnes and Nobles... We didn't have sex there mind you, but I was wearing shorts and kinda squatted down to look at some books on the bottom shelf. In the summer, I don't wear underwear and the head of my penis was out and my Prince Albert piercing caught her eye. Well, after some flirting we went to her place... But that is another story. If you are talking about ABS (adult book stores), there are gay/bisexual hook up sites where you can see what the most popular ones are in your area. Try Squirt

:yikes: It's a bookstore not a bathhouse! Y'all need to take that mess somewhere else. People go to bookstores with their young children. That's the last thing they should have to worry about. :irked:

yngjock20, you forgot the other type, the guys that just come in to watch and take notes.

Seriously, I liked your posts. I always like to hear about the dynamics of sex, and these ABS's seem like an interesting place with all the different types of guys.

I know of a few guys who brought their adult sons to ABS, but that was to pick out porn for a bachelor party (or so they said). One funny incident that occurred maybe 20 years ago, I was in a ABS here in San Jose when a woman walked in with her 8 or 9 year old child. Everyone just looked at her. She went to the clerk and asked if they could use the restroom. Well, he lead her to the employee's one (which was a good thing since there was only a mens room and it didn't have a door).

Jason-
Another thing to remember is that the internet has drastically reduced the amount of face-to-face encounters that people have-even at places like dirty bookstores.
I live in NYC and even here I have noticed that traffic has fallen off in a big way. Some of the guys who have responded make good points-if you want a blowjob, you have to enter the joint with a 'topman' attitude. If you are hanging around the booths, looking for action this pretty much indicates that you are looking for a guy to blow. It might not be fair or accurate, but that's how a new guy who enters the bookstore is gonna read the situation.

I don't think we have these kinds of bookstores in the UK. Cities and large towns will probably have a Sex Shop but this is just a shop which sells pornographic DVDs, videos, books, magazines, sex toys and poppers. They don't have booths in which to view porn. In London's Soho there used to be porn cinemas but I don't think there are any now. There are several Gay Saunas around London and some gay nightclubs which have Dark Rooms or mazes where men have sex. However, you have to pay to get in to these places, so they are effectively private members clubs, whereas anyone can wander into a Sex Shop as it's just a shop selling sex-related items.

Does anyone from the UK know different?

Really, who brings their children to an adult bookstore? Who do you know that does that? Who have you heard of that does that?

If that even does happen, then it's purely down to the parents' irresponsibility.

Interesting thread, I knew it happened, had friends who did it...just never done it myself. I always wondered how it worked. Figured there would be some sort of structure to the interactions. Very informative...excuse me while I test my knew knowledge at the local ABS. :)

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who is confused here. I always thought bookstores were for perusing and purchasing books. Thanks for asking! I don't think I would have ever felt the same way about Chapters ever again!

Just to clear up the confusion: no, not Bunns & Noodle.

We're talking sleazy XXX adult bookstores which smell of cigarettes, cum and failed attempts at deodorizing. Bookstore is misnomer, because they sell video, and few if any books - but they did at one time sell dirty magazines.

They invariably have video booths in the back which, for a small fee, show dirty movies. Men congregate in these places for extremely sleazy anonymous sex. Blowjobs, mostly.

To the original poster: it sounds to me like you want some kind of romance? Or at least human connection there. Sorry. That's not what XXX bookstores are for. They're for sleazy anonymous sex. You've got better odds on Craigslist of finding romance & human connection.

These sleazy bookstores sound like a relic leftover from the 1950's, '60's and '70's. Like sex in public restrooms or parks.

I go to a Border's bookstore. I buy a sugar-free vanilla latte and sit in a chair by the window to skim through a new arrival or a history book.

I don't want 3 or 4 strangers coming in my mouth in a dark, dank clandestine setting.

I like keeping it more open and less illicit: Dinner, movies, then back to my apartment.

No sticky floors or furtive back-alley sex.

I hate to say it (no, I don't, actually) but I'm with you. And I'd go a bit further than that.

Jason. The things I learn about you sometimes. I don't know how this thread escaped my attention.

This thread is just one more reason why Jason is my favorite. :yup:
My advice is to get sucked first, and maybe go through a hook up site to find a regular suck buddy.

a former acquaintance from new york, in the late 90s, was lamenting
about the clean-up of new york and how they "disneyfied" times square saying, "there's no place left to get a decent blow job in this town anymore".

it struck me as funny. i do remember times square of the mid-80s.
lots of xxx bookstores and xxx movie theatres as i recall. didn't go in them, someone on every corner was trying to sell drugs to me, didn't buy those either. but still glad i saw and "experienced" some of that, even though it was as an observer.

guess the "clean-up squad" didn't make it's way through the entire empire state. be careful, it's still a jungle out there.

I'm NOT into adult bookstores or having sex in them at all but when I go to a local one to get porn, toys, etc. I do get hit on and it's pretty obvious when someone wants you or they want sex with you. Most of the time it is all cruising and non verbal, and if you want to have sex there people do it openly but there have been cases of undercover cops hanging out in them.
