I never thought about this until I started working at my job off of the Navy base. I used to work at Popeyes chicken on the Pearl Harbor base. Then I left the job after I got a bit more pay at a job out in town. I am used to folks handing me the money, and I handed it back to them. They always handed me the money at any other job I have worked ( Over seas and the USA).
But, I was taken aback when I found at my job ( in Hawaii) that the customers sat the money down even if you have your hand out. I have had customers pile up wads of dollars and other money, then the loose change is spread all over and under the money pile. I have had these folks look like they were gonna hand you the money and actually dropped the damn money on the counter. Hell, today I had a customer put the money on the conveyor belt . I usually ask the customer to please not do that, because it will go in the belt ( DUH!!!). But, I was shocked to see that the guy was a NON- local. They also want to get angry that I don't hand them their change back once they make me pick it up from the damn counter. Or they get all impatient because they have to wait for their damn receipt. They wound not have to wait if they just hand me the damn money.

It takes time picking up all those damn wads and unfolding them. I can't put them in the reg like that!! My boss would have my ass, or think I am NUTS.
I just want to know how do you hand your money to a cashier? Or it does not matter to you, cashiers are just dirt and they should be happy to even see your face and get YOUR money?
