I am not a gym person. But does anyone actually go to the gym to exercise any more. Most of the postings I see here are centered more on the locker room frolicking and visual gratification

My reaction to being crused, would be to hold up a sign that read " Nothing to see here , keep moving "
If that locker room was a habitual meat market, then I would think about changing gyms; or finally making my at home gym

Well although Cruising for a sexual partner is not illegal in the UK like it used to be, it can be reported as a public nuisance and/or harassment if the person cruising was being a utter dick about it. Although my 1st reaction would be to tell them in no uncertain terms where to go, if they continue to annoy, then, a more physical approach may be needed where the cruisers face accidently makes contact with my fist but of course that is illegal.
So as a straight guy I would happily report it to the proper authorities, more so if it was the OP.

With all the endless posts here about dudes getting their freak on in the locker room it really makes me wonder what gyms they are actually going to. It's almost like they are taking a time machine to work-out in a YMCA in 1960's & 70's Greenwich Village rather than a corporate, big box establishment in the 21st century. Maybe cruising still happens at some gyms, depending on the location and predominant cliental, but I've never witnessed or been subjected to it at any gym I've ever been to, so I can't answer what doesn't apply.

I don't make a habit of hanging around the locker room any more than needed, only to use the bathroom or wash my hands, as I am there to work-out not to shit, shower & shave like some guys, as I can do all that at home. Unless I'm coming right after work, I rarely even change and work-out in the same clothes I'll wear the rest of the day. Most guys I've seen do the same in conducting their business and go.

The closest that could even remotely be considered "cruising" was the time with the one creepy guy who only seemed to sit on one of the bikes watching TV, then hang around the locker room eyeing the other customers changing out of the corner of his eye, including once when I was changing shirts. I saw him several times than never again, so I assumed someone complained and he was kicked out or went to get his ya yas elsewhere.

There was once a warning sign posted that said something like the showers should only be used to get washed and nothing else and to some the "something else" could be interpreted as sexual activity, but considering the location, I wouldn't put it past that it meant guys were using the showers to deal or do drugs. I never asked and the sign was eventually taken down.

But, yeah, as others have stated, if I did ever see it or someone came on to me, I'd report it and/or go to another location or chain. Perhaps you'd get better stories in the Ask a Bi or Gay Man section.

It's been years since I worked out at a gym and either none of that was going on where I was working out, or I was oblivious to it as I never noticed such goings on.
I think it might be a case of not taking notice to adverts about food when you have a full stomach and not interested.

Not polite to curse someone before he is properly sower and dress. Crucio!
But I remember this is ask straight so there must be a picking up meaning somewhere
Why it’s so hard for some to approach people on normal situations

I had never experienced this kind of behavior until the last few years. When I was on a cruise, a man watched me while I was dressing and undressing. It was creepy. I tried to step out of the way of his sight, and then he came in and grabbed my ass. I wasn't happy and told him so. In another time, I was in the sauna, and I guy got right in my way of my exiting. He then waited outside the showers and stared at me when I came out of the showers and was drying off. This was particularly disturbing. Truthfully, I was a little frightened, like he was going to do something. I don't appreciate this behavior. I am not gay, and even if I were I don't want to be intimidated into sexual activity.

I never post on here but feel like giving my fingers some exercise.

Before the pandemic, I was a regular gym goer. I lived very far from my place of work so I went to the gym twice a day, the morning and afternoon, to basically wait out traffic. In the mornings, I lifted since it was less crowded and I could get to all machines, benches and weights I needed and in the afternoons I would do cardio while reading. I had great results and I was never more in shape than doing those two-a-days.

I shave my head so in the mornings, I would go to the steamroom before showering to have a good, refreshing shave. The mornings were usually frequented by the same people all of whom had schedules to be done by so they could be at work on time. Cruising was limited but not non-existent. My reaction to being cruised then was usually mutual but nothing more than shared glances and some showing off. When it was someone that I didn't really care for, I could usually ignore and they'd either go away and stop or I just really was good at not paying them any mind since I was on a schedule.

In the evenings, it was a mix. At those times, it wasn't as many people that were "serious" about their workouts as compared to the before-work crowd. A lot more chances for people to linger and a lot more obvious what they were doing. When it was not mutual cruising, it was not uncommon for my usual habits of ignoring to express disinterest to actually work and more than a few times have I had to be blunt.

Even then, I've had some great times cruising and it was at one time a great motivator to get me in the best shape of my life. I just wish those that maybe blind to read body language would know better when someone wasn't interested and just moved on. Additionally, it really isn't cool to only go to a gym to cruise. There are bathhouses for that.

Never happened to me but some friends had that experience. They felt really bad on that situation (and it help them to understand how women feel a lot of times, by the way), and I agree with them.

A locker room is private enough and public enough to be aware and respectful with others. And it is not about being uncomfortable around gay people (that is not the case), it is about feeling your personal space invaded, in a way. I don't know if I explained myself properly :joy:

Like, if I am in a bar and some guys are making up, I don't care. Or if some guy compliments me or even touch my butt, I would tell them that I am not interested and it will be 100% fine. But a locker room, a shower room, a sauna, a toilet... no. There it is not right.

Yeah, I will say that after my few times of being cruised by people I were not interested in made me realize how I may come off if by chance I wasn't receptive to a hint.

In all the locker rooms I've ever been in, over many decades, I've never, ever, seen anything even remotely close to this happening. I live in the real world, not Fantasy Island, so normal locker room activity to me is changing in and out of workout gear, showering, and moving on with your day.

I only experienced this once that I know of in the gym locker room. Most of the guys were straight and wouldn't really do anything. But one day when I was changing this guy kept lingering. I could tell he just wanted to see it. Normally I change and keep my underwear on but that day I took them off and went free balling so when he came back to cruise he would get to see what he wanted to see. I had a semi thinking about it. I knew he wanted to see it. So I let him have a few looks.
I pretty much would be if you wanna see it just ask :)

I've been cruised in the locker room before. No biggie. I realize that some men actually go to the gym work out and shower afterwards. That's what I do. It doesn't bother me that some guys are checking out my dick and ass. As long as they're not too aggressive with it. It's a complement . At least that's the way I take it.

If men were allowed in woman's lockerroom, their neck would get the best workout that day, looking everywhere at everything. In time it would become more normal, yes he'd still look, but not as obviously and he'd look at what really interested him not everything.

I assume it's much the same way for gay men, I'm sure they are looking, they just aren't obvious about it.

It's not often you see a guy "cruising" in the lockerroom, but if I see it, I'll nod my head in the direction of someone I know is gay. If he's thirsty enough to be obvious he'd be better off delivering his line to the right audience.

If we're talking just about checking a dude out, I don't mind it at all, most of the time. Unless the guy is really old or idk obese, then I feel creeped out. As for hittin on me, same thing, it happened to me only a few times tho.

And as for "action" :joy: I think that happens mostly during the night, at least that's when I came across it the couple times I did. My reaction was "lol don't mind me, I'm just passin through".
