I'm not very familiar with the content of the new, popular "chat" sites like Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter. I was wondering how "gay" they are.

Do they have a "gay section" where people can reveal themselves as gay and can chat with other gays on line? Is any kind of gay sexual talk even allowed?

What about pictures? I heard something on the news once that one of these sites (maybe MySpace) was receiving a lot of sexually oriented photos from its users.

I'd like to hear from current users of these new sites as to what the gay content of them is--if any.

Thanks a lot!

I'm on Facebook. I don't not think there is a Gay Section. People, as far as I can tell, just represent themselves. THAT is to say, real names and photographs. I have not seen any nude photographs on Facebook.

The others that you mentioned, I have no idea.

For any content, try Flickr.

There are purpose-built gay social networking sites that might be more appropriate for meeting friends or hooking up like Gay.com, Adam M4M, Bearhunt, Daddyhunt, Manhunt, etc.

It's pretty routine for parents and employers to lurk on MySpace and Facebook now. Twitter's just a feed, but, again, be prepared for anyone with access to your Twitter account to read what you tweet and search the archives. Do you really want your personal life so...published?

You cannot have X-rated /obscene content on either FACEBOOK or MYSPACE. And you can get your account closed for those offenses.

You can have X-rated/obscene photos on GAYWATCH AND XPEEPS.

I don't like social networking sites even though I did have personal MySpace and FACEBOOK accounts. Now, I just have a business FACEBOOK account.

The ones I highlighted--the users in my locale don't like gay black guys who are ordinary looking. But I haven't been on BEARHUNT. DADDYHUNT loves me. (My only success.)

I wouldn't call you "ordinary looking", Invisi

Are you referring to the other users or the site admins? I know the black guys on Man(c)unt here in SoFla are plentiful and popular, at least with me.

BB--
The users of those sites. The admins on those sites were really nice and professional...but I wasn't trying to pick the admins up.

I was on Adam4Adam three separate times with three different accounts (each cancelled following frustrations--I never have multiple accounts.) with my pics and everything...no matches. I have even met the same peeps I worked with at the gay bar on Adam4Adam. That was funny and kinda weird.

I was on Gay.com. I had my regular pic up there. And was honest with my stats. No one wanted to chat with me at all in the chat rooms. I was really mad. So, I stopped going for a week or so. Then, I decided that I would conduct an experiment. I had a nondescript picture of a hot guy (not a face pic though) with a hairy body, nice ass and a really fat cock. I uploaded it on my Gay.com account. He has a similar body type like mine (except I don't have a hairy chest) in the picture. But I doctored my stats...and said that I was white guy but I kept my cock size as it is. I went into some of the chatrooms...I had soooo many men talking with me. I was happy talking with them. Then, I really got bored over time...and decided to cancel my Gay.com account. That is when I started coming to LPSG around that time.

I have never really tried Gay.com. I found it expensive for what it promised and found it all a little too cliquey and twinky for my taste. I also gotta say that chat's never been my thing at all, so it was an easy one to pass up.

Adam M4M has a really terrible format that causes you to constantly sign in and back out or you get lost in the back pages; it's also awkward with Firefox's tab system. I also find the profiles to be rather vague. I compare it to a very fast-moving river.

Manhunt works best for me. It seems as though everything I'd want to know about someone is just a click or two away, and it has the most diverse and largest membership of any of them down here (despite its cost).

I understand the complaints some guys have about the owner of Manhunt (he's a Republican), but that doesn't bother me so much. Back when I lived in Boston, the best bars were all mob-owned: everybody knew it, nobody really cared.

I've never done any special search, but I'm sure that, just like there are websites for Bears and Daddies and Tit-Tuggers and Barebackers, there should be at least a few for guys of color and those who look for them. The questions then become whether or not there's enough participation in your area and whether or not you find its membership desirable.

They aren't chat sites, they're networking sites - you use your real name and keep in touch with your real life friends.

Pretty much everything you do on there is traceable to you, so if you're looking for a discreet shag you really don't want to use social networking sites! Everyone will find out - by design. And as mentioned, none of them tolerate X-rated content.

As you mentioned Uncle Bucky there are indeed sites for those who like tit's water sports, pigs and daddies!
Some of the ones my husband likes are PumpPig - PumpPig WATERSPORTS.COM, SilverDaddies or vacpumper.com - Home and Recon Military - picture profiles of guys in uniform.
Within Asspig's site are different pages for those into heavy tit play, assplay titpig and asspig also fistpig so forth and so on... you get the idea!
I'm sorry you got such a crappy response Invisibleman.
We always thought you were far more interesting than most here and the fact that you are black is always a plus in our book!
What does "keep sites neutral" mean specifically.
You said it shouldn't have "gay sections" but why would talk of any one's preference
keep others away?
It shouldn't besides these are sites where most of the people you are letting view your info know about you already I would hope! How many people here allow folks they've never talked with to be on their friends list? I suspect it is the same way at "facebook" with the exception of playing games.
I find that neutral is a strange euphemism for meaning straight or normal.
Isn't that what you are trying to convey?
All those sites cater to "straights" already. I suspect if you had an queer orientated home page there, you'd be banned quicker than a virgin cums on your thigh!
There are far and away more sites dedicated to those whose sexuality leans toward being "vanilla, bland and/or "white" but not enough for those whose sexuality may be alternating, fetishistic or leans towards being with the same sex.

MOST DEFINATELY

and twinky

Well, not totally. There are different chat rooms. I stuck in with the Cowboy...Leather...Hairy guy type forums. But in Gay.com...I ran into a guy that I met on Gaydar. This guy abruptly dropped me after I went through the trouble of actually writing him in Australia. No, I told him that I knew who he was. And I told him that I thought that he was shitty for dropping me because I wasn't black enough (he loved black guys not light skinned black guys.). I told him that it was really fucked up to write someone and NOT respond. He apologized. And that was the end. I was happy. A positive resolution.

...for my taste. I also gotta say that chat's never been my thing at all, so it was an easy one to pass up.

Adam M4M has a really terrible format that causes you to constantly sign in and back out or you get lost in the back pages;

I know what you mean...I have lost sooo much written letter content typing a response to a guy's letter to me by accidentally pressing the back key. I was so mad after writing all that stuff that I decided to write people back the next day. Hehehe. it's also awkward with Firefox's tab system. I also find the profiles to be rather vague. I compare it to a very fast-moving river.

Manhunt works best for me. It seems as though everything I'd want to know about someone is just a click or two away, and it has the most diverse and largest membership of any of them down here (despite its cost).

MANHUNT: I have met three people on there. Two used to work at the gay bar with me. I met one guy on there. And after meeting me...he was ready to go meet another man. :frown1: I never saw him again.
One of the other guys I met on MANHUNT was a bartender who knew the guy that I met on MANHUNT. He told me that he was a really bad drug user. (For a really bad drug user...that guy had some really nice low hanging testicles and thick cock. Hehehe.) Anyway via MANHUNT, I found out that the drug user moved to Portland, Oregon.

The other guy besides the bartender and the "junkie" was a guy that used to do drag. He became a really bitter queen. He wanted peeps to have pics or there was no meeting. And he also wanted a lot from peeps. And I was like, I know you motherfucker...and your demands are shit. You have a big cock...but you aren't special other than that.
I understand the complaints some guys have about the owner of Manhunt (he's a Republican), but that doesn't bother me so much. Back when I lived in Boston, the best bars were all mob-owned: everybody knew it, nobody really cared.

Duh! Now, fuhgeddaboudit...capice? :biggrin1:

Oh, there are...I don't EVEN bother with those sites. White peeps expect me to be thuggy and a gangbanger. I don't even like contemporary hip hop. I grew up when hip hop was party and breakdance jams. Not so these days. The questions then become whether or not there's enough participation in your area and whether or not you find its membership desirable.

I think that it is the participation and the membership in my area. They don't even have male escorts advertised in my area like they used to. On men4rentnow.com, there used to be about eight listings...now you are lucky to find two.

You can try your luck on Craigslist. I don't gamble. There are way too many white supremacists baiting gays in my area on Craigslist.

:wtf2: I hadn't heard about that! See, this is the kind of shit that pisses me off. People think that just because Barack Obama is President all of a sudden everything is honky-dorey. It's NOT.

As for the OP there are literally hundreds of gay dating sites. He needs to check one of them out. Twitter is little more than an online diary. It is NOT a dating site. No nude pictures are allowed.

YUP!! On Craigslist in the section where they have the hookup ads. Well in the RANT AND RAVE sections where the white supremacists are (kinda where they are in Atlanta, Ga's Craigslist.. http://atlanta.craigslist.org/rnr/ . ) they steal the peeps' pics...and impersonate the gays in other Craigslist and sometimes in the same relationship section...and when a gay guy hooks up with the guy...they get harrassed, robbed, or gay bashed.

The racism that abounds on Atlanta's Craig's List is the reason I no longer go there. I had no idea it would be so different from New Jersey's. It's startling and scary.:frown1::mad:

i, on facebook you can state on your profile that your interested i men or women and what your looking for.... and if you are looking for meets you can find that there too... there are different applications on there like (social me) and ( are you interested) i have a few gay friends on there....
and as long as you dont post things on your page you dont want others to see then its all good.

plus i have experience of meeting up with people off facebook and i have`nt had a problem.

Apart from stating your orientation on Facebook (I don't use MySpace).. I'm pretty sure there will be groups for gays or specific sex/fantasies.. where I'm quite sure horney people would post their personal adds using secret/anonymous profiles.
