I had service with a local provider that had gotten so it was getting dozens of spam messages daily, they did not have a way that worked to stop it. I did not have a lot of memory with their server, that it would fill if I went more than a few days without deleting the spam, and saving the rest to my HD with Outlook. It is difficult with Outlook to find the e-mail address of someone, if you wish to communicate to them later.
I changed to G-mail about a year and a half ago, there is no memory limit, and I have only received one spam message. I have a yahoo account I use when a site insists on entering my e-mail to access something, but I don't wish to receive any communication from them.
Edit, I have 3,467, but the bulk of them are because of being in several E-groups from being involved in community organizations.
I have @20,000 archived on the HD on my old computer.
