Pretty self explanatory poll, I would think.

    Optional discussion points:

    - has your list grown, or shrunk, of late?
    - what gets someone added to your ignore list?
    - once added, does an offending member stay there permanently?
    - do you usually find yourself ignoring forum posters, chatters, or PM'ers?
    - &c.

I don't have anybody in my ignore list. Maybe I haven't been here long enough. If somebody kept on bothering me though I would put them on the ignore list. Hasn't happened yet though.

I don't generally use the ignore list. People that harass should be expelled, or driven away, and idiocy can be entertaining, so I don't want to miss out on any of it.

None, i've never found it possible for someone in the virtual realm to irritate me on a personal level.

If they post crap, I just smile and move on.

No one is on my ignore list but I wish there was a thread ignore button.

I get sex solicitating PM's from people I don't know which peeve me that I usually ignore.

I tend to just make a mental note to ignore someone. I have gotten dirty pm's from peeps with whom I haven't chatted. I ignored them. Now, if you pm me, and I like your personality, be prepared to get dirty ones in return. I'll just be joking but you will get them.

I don't use ignore, never have cause to - I just don't reply to PMs from folks I don't know unless there is a compelling reason - so far I have only been compelled once out of fuck knows how many.
I don't ignore people on the boards - anyone may eventually type something worth reading and I don't go into chat... ignoring is for cases of serious harrassment (or wusses  )

One, and that person hasn't posted for several months that I have noticed.

I have considered adding others, in one case they did not continue to post, and in one other they got through their problems and became a genuine contributor.

I don't use the ignore list, myself.

As a tool, it's too heavy-handed, as there's no way to judge when someone should be taken off it - if you can't read the posts, you can't tell if it's still someone to be ignored.

Well, one of the posters in this thread is on my ignore list!

Those who use excessive color, size and graphics in their posts are prime candidates. Those who ramble on forever about something that could easily be covered in a couple of concise paragraphs, those whose egos are overdeveloped and some people I just can't stand due to whininess.

Real life is different of course but I do tend to avoid people who are full of themselves. Confidence is one thing, droning on for hours about absolutely nothing is another.

I would never put anyone on my ignore list ....I beleive in open dialogue....While we may disagree...agree to dsagree or hell get ready for dueling..it is still open dialogue..Ignore is for punks....in my opinion....I never shy away from dialogue..whatever that dialogue may be.....When you ignore someone you are essentially giving them power over you and your emotions..you are saying that their words have the power to hurt you, thus I will ignore you..hell nooooo....words are just words....it is incumbent upon you to make those words powerful or powerless.....

I very rarely use ignore, I have a high tolerance for knobs and I never get annoyed, it's the net, they're strangers, how anyone can get annoyed is a mystery to me.

    Ignore list = 0
    Buddy List = 4

I find the people who I want to ignore leave the board or get banned after a week or two anyway.

Nobody on mine. Except for the ocasional troll, nobody has done anything to me to be put on ignore. Have had a few guys ask for pictures, but they were respectful and it went no farther. At least somebody was interested, even if I wasn't. Wish some of the ladies would ask me for pics. I guess I ain't their type.

This is like shooting fish in a barrel, but the question does demand to be asked - just what do you think you are full of?

    2 here

I had considered, for a few seconds, making this a "Who's on your ignore list?" thread, but that seemed a bit too incendiary for the current climate.

Same here. I wonder how many of the same people are on other people's ignore lists!
