None. I've been tempted a few times but to date I haven't used it.

I'm pleased to see many others are also saying none.

None at this time, I occasionally put them on ignore if they are too annoying to deal with, but not enough fun to throw troll-stones at.

I frequent a few different forums and there's nothing worse than reading a thread where someone has hijacked it with his/her personal tirade/vendetta etc.

Why should anyone be forced to page through endless posts that have no meaning. For me it's a way of getting through a thread quicker. Sure, I probably miss a few points but is it worth digging through a landfill just to find a dollar or two?

A couple times I've considered putting someone on 'ignore' but have never done so.
If someone became abusive, I might ... but that's never happened.
And sure, there are assholes who I'd just as soon not read -- but I have the option of skipping over their posts, just as I might skip over an unappealing item in the newspaper.
And as Big Dirge has pointed out, if you put someone on 'ignore,' you won't be able to see if their posts improve in quality and appeal.

Just in case...
For the unfamiliar, that is:
"QFT", internet slang meaning "quoted for truth"...
QFT - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

...and NOT "quit fucking talking"

I put forward that one of the listed variations is actually the true/original meaning; "quite fucking true".

QFE is most certainly "quoted for emphasis", however.

There are no people on my ignore list. I've never used the ignore function, and I never will. Some people have bugged me on various occasions and there are a select few on here who I do not care for at all, but I think purposefully blocking those people out would be quite useless. You can't do it IRL, so why do it here? Just 'cause you can, I guess.

I also think blocking out anything, whether it be avatars, siggies, whatever, is quite disadvantageous to one's self. I like seeing the real LPSG, not the version I'd like it to be.

And trolls? They are endlessly amusing and there's no way I'd ever block myself from being able to see their trainwrecks out of here. The assholes here who border on being trolls eventually burnout, so I don't really see the need to ignore them, either.

Interesting you should ask that question.

I put someone on there once because he kept posting things that I felt were obnoxious. It wasn't a statement of hatred or personal violence on my part, simply an attempt to avoid the negativity and perhaps impress upon the individual a need to operate differently.

Eventually, I noticed others were responding to posts of his that seemed to be on a new tack. I took him off "ignore" and have been impressed with a number of his posts.

Thanks for the opportunity to say that.

There's no feedback mechanism which would do that.

If there was a running tally somewhere which could tell individual members how much they were being officially ignored, it might work.
