LoveGirl: It's okay that you are "sluts" but I'd like you to know, you'll never be as happy as me. I got to give my virginity to the person I'll be with the rest of my life, or longer. Virginity is something really special and my sweetums found it to be a very nice gift, something you can only give once in your life. Unfortunately it can also be stolen, in very violent ways, as I have seen. Sometimes this causes children to grow up with sexual disorders that cause them to join with abusive partners or many many partners. Sometimes it causes them to become molesters or abusers. Sometimes it causes them to have a faith in god/religion that others can't obtain as easily. BTW I've said "cause" or "causes" a lot, I realize this. I somewhat feel that people should be more careful with their virginity, for it is a special thing and they are lucky to have it. I myself feel like one of the ten luckiest people in the world. I was in a house of horrors so to speak which was constantly full of molestation and child rape. If I didn't get saved when I did I would have soon been a victim as well. All I'm trying to say is virginity is a sacred thing and child who are sexually abused never have to option (given to the rest of us) to cherish their virginity and give it to someone in a ceremonius way. I strongly disagree with your first statement that we'll never be as happy as you. I'm glad that you're happy, but for some people, having sex comes as naturally as breathing and eating, and I don't like the right-wingers and virgins of the world telling us that we're destined to have an unhappy life because we had sex outside of a long-term relationship.

Truthfully, I've only had one sexual partner. I was married to her for 20 years and even in the hard times I wasn't tempted to stray.

Although I encouraged my 4 children to do the same, they became sexually active early in their teens, with the accompanying angst and pain. Now that they are all married all I can do is encourage them to be faithful to their partners.

I have had sex with three people, and I'm 24 now. One of them is a long term relationship. I'm happy with my number, mostly because it is by choice. I know I'm an attractive guy, so being a quote on quote 'slut' (what the hell would make you call yourself this?) would be an easy path. But thats really all it is, easy.

Mark, I think it is the biggest generalization éver that you made, about gay people and the number of guys they slept with. I think it is as random as straight people.
It may be true for a number of people, but sure as hell not for all. I think it all depends on what type of environment you're surrounded by.

I try to keep the number of people I have sex with limited to the ones I feel emotionally attracted to as much as physically. I know there is hardly a moral reason to keep the number low (there sure as hell ís one related to STD's) but since I consider having a loving, monogamous relationship as my highest good, I doubt I will attain that by sleeping around. As far as mý experience tells me, people usually do not really like their partners to having been past around more than a dollar bill, and I can't blame them. This is all even besides my personal metaphysical beliefs. I didnt want that to be the focus, because they are my personal convictions.

I guess it all depends on what we're after. If your definition of 'relationship' is stretched or not even something you want, your fear of STD's low, and your hormones raging uncontrollably than why wóuld you hold back.

I'm just a tad different.

It is fascinating the diversity in opoinion on this subject. I have been a part of this group of and on since last August. (in different incarnations of course! LOL! ) I would be considered very conservative to most people that know me. I have for a number of reasons decided to stay celibate until marriage. That is not a decision that was not well thought out or stuck to during the challenging times and temptations. But I am glad that I am still standing at this point.I can not speak for anyone else concerning their happiness or lack of, but I am content in my decision.Being celibate does not however mean sexless or a person that lacks sensuality. I think I have a great deal of both of those. I have chosen at this point to direct my passions away from physical consummation and towards other pursuits.I do like talking and I can do a nasty piece of talking at that ( LOL! ) but at this time I am still waiting for that one right person with whom I will share my life and be able to explore the delights of physical union without fear or recrimination.
