All jokes aside.
Condoms are very important.
In case you couldn't tell, Jeff, one of the previous posts really struck me the wrong way.
The cavalier attitude towards sexually transmitted diseases just really pushes my buttons. "She asked me to wear one, but I claimed I didn't have any, so we just went at it anyway." "She said she didn't like the way they feel, and she said she's on the pill, and said she's clean, so we didn't use one."
Keep in mind, any potential casual sex partner who urges condomless sex has undoubtedly done the same thing with all their other casual sex partners. If someone says, "I'm clean", you can assume that they may be clean, they may know they have disease(s) but claim otherwise, they may never have been tested. Assuming that you have only picked up "nice" girls or boys at the bar is exceptionally stupid.
The safest thing is to presume that any casual sex partner may have a disease, and protect yourself accordingly.
I have been flamed and villified in other posts when I assert that sexually transmitted diseases could be eliminated in our lifetime, if every single person who has sex would do so responsibly. It won't happen, of course, because too many people assert that it is everyone else's responsibility but their own.
