Well once parents have gone through
the cycle of names that are big now,
all the old fashioned ones will be picked
by the Tiffanys and Brittanys, only for
the fact it will become the new trend.

"Sorry, Ceg has never been a top 1000 name so we are unable to display a graph for the name Ceg."

Oh well.

Take care

My name is old fashioned. Seems to have been in greatest favor in the decade of the l900's and has been on the decline ever since. However, there was a resurgence in the 1990's and who knows - maybe 2000s, too.

Going with my given name (which some may remember--just think of a drunkard on an old television show who would lock himself up in jail) I am now at a dismal 836. The up side of this, is, that when my name is called I usually know it's me they're looking for.

Onslow,

My cousin who has your same name along with his son use alternative versions of their name. My cousin uses his first and middle initials (Southern parents) and my cousins son just goes by their middle name, Ben. My dad and brother also had similarly scary names ( think of childhood rhyme .....,rastus johnson brown) my father just braved it out as did my grandfather but my brother goes by a nickname. One thing in their favor is that they were all handsome men so it counterbalanced it a bit. I find the same works for a contemporary British actor of the same name.

Naughty

My name meaning "Gracious Warrior Queen" was number 5 in the 60's and 70's and held its own in the top 20 till this day.

My given name is quite common. Everybody knows somebody with my name.

But in the 20th Century it ranged from 31st to 83rd and back to 35th in popularity.

Great link Windy!

My name was in the top 5 during the decade I was born. This explains why there were three other guys with the same first name in an elementary school class of 22.

Chuck, YOU got through elementary school?... AMAZING!

Yeah. It was difficult but I managed. To this day, I still don't have my times tables memorized thoroughly and I sometimes catch myself doing simple counting on my fingers (although it's mostly so I don't forget where I'm at, not because I can't do it in my head).

Evidently, I can't spell either, but Alex seems to be the only one who cares about that.

*cough* *cough*

I only chide people I value about their spelling, it's just my way of being playful.
