I guess what is considered thick will be based on the experience of the one who you ask. But with an average girth of just under 5'', Im sure that half an inch more will be enough to be considered on the big side? At least for a majority?

Based on what I have seen 4.5 to 5.0 is average. I am 6 around, though I am thicker at the base so closer to 5.75 in the middle. I have been with around 25+ guys and only 1 was thicker than me (by a little bit), and 2 were about as thick as me. So that gives you and idea of what being around 6" means. Pics for proof. I'm 5.3" around and a significant part of guys I have met were thinner, some similar, only a few were thicker, but some of those quite significantly so.
I would say that I'm at the edge between above average and thick, and that 5.5" would definitely put you into thick territory.
